My first ever comment, purely to say:

You guys are pathetic. You're supposed to be voting on whether it's a good deal, not whether it's a good phone. If people are looking for an iPhone then they will want to look for a good deal.

If you vote cold because you don't personally like the phone or like Apple, then you're completely misguided on how this website works. It's for sharing deals and helping people save money on the things they want or need, not for writing reviews.

It might be a fair fight between Apple and Samsung if the prices were similar. But you can get the Galaxy S2 so much cheaper that it just makes no sense to buy this.

Phone O2 and ask for your PAC code.

Vodafone - Go to vodafone.co.uk/kee…ber and enter the details they ask for, usually phone numbers, SIM card numbers and PAC code.

Three - Go to three.co.uk/Sup…ree and click 'Bringing your number to Three'

Oh shut up, of course its for writing reviews and whatever else people want to, thats what they have a bloody discussion thread appended to each deal for.

It helps people evaluate the deal if the comment is informed, and the other discussion gives the site its character, nobody with a soul would come here if it was full of boring halfwit dealspotters like you just writing down numbers and eating egg sandwiches.

if you get £60 sim only for 2 years (provided as you said with cashback. tbh I do not see thats so easy. link?) = £120
and if you get £551 with finance, it sums to £671 over 2 years

Now you get £40 from Quidco which reduces it to 680 for 2 years.

I do not see a big difference here. Ofc thats your choice anyway.

For those wondering, no, the student discount/any work related/NHS discount won't work with Mobiles.co.uk, Phones4U, Carphone Warehouse etc. You must get it from Vodafone.co.uk, Vodafone over the phone, or a Vodafone store.

Lol, I have had the S2 since release date. On the weekend I opted for the 4S 16GB with Vodafone. £31 a month, £15 upfront and £50 quidco.

I am happy, smaller screen takes getting used to. Although getting Vodafone 3G speeds of 6megs, compared to O2s 4megs (at my house)

This is a very good deal, given that gumtree iphone 4s 16gb and 32gb is worth 400-450+,

    For the 16gb 4S,
30x24 = 720, minus a second hand 4s 16gb from gumtree of around £350 = 370 for 2 years equivalent, meaning £15.41 a month, which say compared to gaf gaf or tmobile £10 deal with sim free £500+ is MUCH better,
lets assume u could get 4S 32gb from gumtree for 350, which is a good price but impossible not to mention second hand

so hence 860 - 350 = 510 over 2 years, hence worth £21.75 for the sim only which is relatively cheap!

Yes it is expensive BUT iphone imho is a quality product, bc of one reason INVESTMENT, app store makes money hence develpment, unlike andriod.
and not to mention, if your phone gets stolen, you dont have to worry about insurance, as it is one of the benefits of paying monthly. and minites/ data is poor but acceptable, THIS IS A HOT DEAL!!!

What? You are not covered if your phone is stolen. You still need insurance even if you are in a contract.

true but for me i hate apple after having an iphone for 4 years, hate being tied to it*rd, apple arrogance, overpriced - but for me its the dreadful connectivity, small screen and constant bloatware updates that slowly kill your device that i now hate - my iphone 3g used to zip along, but now it can take 3 minutes just to MAKE a call whilst it constatntly almost locks up with each screen press - its not my phone its all iphone 3g's

Who's network is giffgaff on? or is it their own? Are they reliable? good Cmr Service etc?
  37. williamj1's avatar
Not as good a deal as you all might think - for a contract it is, but it isn't outstanding.

You could buy the iPhone 4s sim free for £500, then get a £10 giffgaff goodybag each month.
    This would be £500 + £240 (10 x 24) = £740 in total over 24 months.

    This contract is 30 x 24 on three = 720
    This contract is 31 x 24 on vodafone = 744

So in some respects, the contract is cheaper. But I know I would personally rather have the freedom of GiffGaff and the ability to upgrade whenever. Plus, you get more texts and data.

  39. deleted47758's avatar
I suppose if you absolutely must have one for 'free' then this is a good deal, but personally I'd steer clear of any two-year contracts.

Also, I've never been convinced that buying the base model of any of Apple's products is a great move. You can fill 16GB quickly with photos, games, videos and music. Much better to spring for 32 or (best of all) 64GB if you can afford it.

cold. you can buy it simfree for £500 on eBay and can buy a redemption phone with 50£ quidco and sell the phone for £50, so it is £400 over 2 years
