Android devices are for the poor and uneducated

I have an iPhone and prefer it as a mobile platform but your comment was idiotic.

Ironic really.

Hahah! The irony of that comment. I guess it hasn't clicked yet

There's rumours of Apple releasing 32 and 128GB versions of the SE in March and dropping these - it could be linked to that as it is a good price at £20.99 with no upfront.

If that's true then even more reason for people to jump onto this deal, imo 32gb handsets are almost full after 6 months because app sizes, camera pictures/videos be it ios or Android, unless you're a very light user e.g dare i say a oap.

I love this site but people should vote because it is a good deal or not, not because someone doesn't like a product

64gb capacity but 1gb data per month... will never be sufficient unless one has almost permanent unlimited wifi available even when out and about.

Stupid comment, I have an iPhone 6s Plus and I still prefer android for some stuff.

Just because you only buy iPhones it does not mean that android is bad!

How do the two correlate sorry? Unless I'm misreading and you mean you want a larger capacity phone but the data allowance isn't enough for your needs?

To be honest, I get 3GB of data on my O2 contract and other than the month we moved house, I've never even come close to the limit. Mainly used for iPlayer radio/Deezer when in the car a couple of times a week.

Not for me, or most people I know. Two year contracts are rarely good value. No option to get cheap simo deals.

Great deal. I think the SE is one of the best phones ever released. The ONLY problem I find with iOS is that you can't browse the file system like you can on android. I deal with a large amount of doc files and I store them in my documents folder on android whereas it's a big struggle to store them properly on iOS.

What I am saying is show me a a mobile contract that isn't 2 years with a handset included, SIMO do not come with handsets included..

No, but £20 cashback at quidco.

BTW I went for the 2gb deal recently and phone came next day. Also FYI EE don't let new customers have 2 lines and it causes all sorts of confusion.

Handsets are cheap. I suppose if you can find a good 2 year deal with a decent phone yiu could just ditch the contract. I've had too many good O2 refresh deals, so could never go back to a contract with a handset.

Also depends what phone you have, most phones are using data in the background by default.

I have 20gb limit and use 75% of my data as my home internet is slow and when out and about, connection to wifi takes too long imo

Is this the standard plan or the Essential one? The reason I ask is that if you look at the list of tariffs there is an identical one listed at £25.99 per month with an up front cost of £30.

The two correlate because a bigger capacity implies in general greater usage, and more usage would imply needing a lot of data, and 1gb is paltry if streaming, uploading/downloading photos, videos, some video calling etc. With moderate use I get through 3ish gb a month (no wifi at work).

Just warning those interested that 1gb is a pretty low usage amount and really is only worth £1-2 a month.

I applaud you! I don't think I use my 6S 64gb a huge amount but I use 3gb with normal use and 4-6gb if I happen to download / stream / tether a lot that month. My point really is that 64gb is going to get filled somehow, at least some of which will be via the mobile network.
#33
Can the data be capped? between this and the iPhone 7 the other day, I'm getting my daughter one. but worried about the potential bill, she's on a Tesco capped SIM only deal just now
#34
Worth noting that for £1 a month extra effectively the data can be doubled to 2gb, supporting my earlier comment (same per month but £50 upfront rather than £25, before the £25 discount is applied).

Respectfully disagree, I've gone for 64gb since it was available on the 4S, moving through a 5 then a 6s.

The reason? I've got an iTunes music library approx 28gb in size that I've maintained since moving to a mac in 2006. Back on Windows now (for the HTPC at least) but that's a good half of the available storage on a 64gb handset gone before adding anything else. It then means you've got flexibility to keep a photo library of several GB (backs up to Google photos when on home wifi so can clear it out annually).

Games are often 1gb plus as well.

If you can't get wifi at work or you commute via public I can understand you might use more if you're sat staring at your phone for hours (seems to be symbolic of modern life).

I guess we'll all have our own usage stories but there was always a trend on this site of people favouring android phones that took micro sd cards for additional media storage. Spotify/Deezer etc are great but it seems people still like to have access to their own locally stored digital media.

What will eventually prove interesting (IMHO) is what happens when free wifi is even more readily available - public transport, city centres etc. Even on the cheaper phone contracts, providers give away unlimited minutes/texts even though people aren't using them anymore (due to FaceTime, Whatsapp, Skype). When that wifi is available on tap, how are the providers going to justify charging people £30/£40 a month for what is effectively just a 24 month payment vehicle for a non-subsidised handset and a couple of gig of data.

iPhone SE 64GB itself cost £400 So you are paying on top only £100 for 24 months of using minutes and texts and 1GB data which is like £4 a month.

Good comment. I don't think public wifi will be widely available for quite a few years (maybe in the larger cities) I went abroad recently and was informed via text that calls were £2pm and £1pm to RECEIVE... which I thought was a bit harsh in this day and age, which basically mean't using the free wifi at the hotel and facetime was the only option I was comfortable with. On vodafone btw.. I don't use a mobile hardly at all, so no point in a contract for me, I have wifi 99% of the time so whatsapp and facetime is more than adequate for me. How are phone companies going to continue with these contracts I wonder...

Incidentally, there appears to be an epidemic of people staring at phones, I don't mind so much until people get into lifts or stand in doorways or bump into you - unable to take their eyes of a screen, it's crazy.. I went to the MEN arena a few weeks back for a show, during the interval, I could have counted at least 200 people around me all staring into phones, looks very very weird. Rows and rows of people on phones, and to think when I was in school computers were for geeks haha!

Super fast phone I have one of these, and cases are cheap too, which is an advantage,or maybe not I have about 10 so far (addicted!)
