My girlfriend has been playing scrabble non stop for a week. not going to tell her it cheap at the moment.
#6
What about iPad EA apps?
#7
Great stuff - thanks!

Gotta say the best app I have ever bought was nextbus ..... really handy if you use the bus alot, it uses GPS to see the which stop you are at and tells you what time the next one is due

Spore is £1.19

Spore was 59p for months, unless this the second game.

Nothing to stop you buying them now if you're definitely getting an iPad... they'll simply sit in iTunes waiting to be installed. I had quite the collection of free and sale price Apps before I ever got my iPhone.
#11
if you're interested in scrabble, get Words With Friends - it's everything scrabble is, but also muiltiplayer - one of the best apps i have.

that said, if it's vs. a.i. you want, scrabble is pretty good fun and a bargain at 1.19

You can buy them now on sale through iTunes and sync them to your iPad when you get it, no need to wait and miss the sale.

The one on sale is the iPhone/iPod Touch version, which will work on the iPad but is NOT the version advertised for the iPad. Although Apple advertise it as 'Compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad', that just means the iPad will scale the app up to its screen size. The iPad has a version of Scrabble specifically designed for it (in the US anyway at $10). Some firms are selling these apps separately (and usually at a higher price) for the iPad, due in part to the costs of redeveloping the app for the iPad, and that there's less app 'competition'.

99% of all iPhone apps will work on the iPad, the important thing is only some of those apps will be 'optimised' for the iPad. You won't be able to buy UK iPad apps until the iPad launch later this month, however apps that are optimised for both iPhone/iPad, e.g. Marvel Comics, Moonlight Mahjong are downloadable now.

You can tell which apps are iPad optimised because the Apps page in the iTunes App Store will have an 'iPad Screenshots' tab.

Good app prices btw

+2, got my iPhone on thursday, downloaded this about an hour later after a few friends recommended it, it is very good - think of it like "scrabble by post/email" as there is no ai, so you have to wait for your opponent to take their turn.

I'm using the free version atm, which seems fully functional, aside from it displaying an advert after every turn you take.

They also do a Chess app, which follows the same model.

dragon's lair 59p
its was awesome @ the time - compared to other games the visuals were like comparing an xbox360 to a calculator
but limited in gameplay - worth a trip down memory lane

cant stop playing Angry Birds at the minute ... love it :-D

There are actualy quite a few iPad aps already in the UK store just no actual section for them :). So if you search for 'iPad' or a specific iPad peice of software eg. 'Real Racing HD' or 'Plants Vs Zombies HD' the Ipad app will come up in the ITunes store for download. :D

I have already built up a small collection of iPad apps ready for my shiny new 3g iPad which should hopefully arrive on May 28th! :D - Cant wait!

PS. Also may try this deal (http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/675038/o2-pay-and-go-simplicity?) (O2 £10 a month no contract unlimited data and wifi) with it :) - Will probably have to cut down the sim to micro sim size (which is apparently possible) but then should be good to go hopefully! :) - Unless apple have done some crafty stuff only letting specific o2 contracts work. IPad is sim unlocked though apparently.

You all need to look up "jailbreak" if you want to save money!

Great story there, I'm so grateful that you could share that with us.

Do you recommend everyone look up the word "torrent" for pc game deals or "shoplift" for all instore deals? :whistling:

Bought Boggle, hot.

That is true, but to be honest the apps are really not expensive even at full price. Id rather give my money to the developers. They get 70% of the sale price (which they set themselves) and Apple takes 30% which I think is a fair deal.
#29
why don't you people just jailbreak and get installous? =S

because if everybody did that, nothing new would ever get developed.

You can say that for anything. Why do people spend thousands on cars when you can just go and steal one. We're not all scroungers like you mate lol

THere is also the issue of warranty. I believe Apple will not honur this if jailbroken so prob best to wait until after the warranty end if you decide to go down this route.

Got the scrabble one thanks.
