PercyBowlerPercyBowler

John Lewis are selling silver iPod Classic 160GB for £159.99. They seems to be out of stock on-line, but they did seems to have them in stock at the Newcastle Upon Tyne branch today. Seems like a good price.

List price is £199 at Apple.

As for there being a new model due.... Nobody really knows but it has been around in this form for ages.
There are no new features to be added to the classic. It's not entirely out of the question that it would be bumped up from 160gb but it's not all that likely.

personally, I'd got for the Touch, yea, its less memory (gb), but soooo much more you can do with a touch than a classic

This interests me, I have an 80GB Classic I bought years ago but has stopped charging from the Mains, will only charge when plugged into a PC. I have reset the iPod but at a bit of a loss as it is otherwise great.

still use our 80gb version in the house, connected to the kitchen radio,

I might have to upgrade to this (bought a panasonic home cinema dvd player, with a built in ipod dock) my old ipod classic (4generation black & white version) is not recognised by the panasonic software, even after i updated the software. Gutted.

Tip: Go into iTunes, select all of your music, and convert to a bit rate of 64kbps or 128kbps if you're feeling generous. Then you'll be able to fit more on your small iPod! :p

That's only if you want your music to sound terrible. 64kbps?!

Im voting this hot because at the end of the day its an MP3 player and you need as much storage space as possible. My 30gb has lasted 6 years and i've run out of space and im interested in one of these.

I had one, but it didn't last long. You're better off getting a Sansa clip+ and 10 16gb sdhc cards!

^That's a stupid idea, nothing compares to an iPod.

This is a brilliant price, but personally I do prefer the Black iPod Classic's, just not got the amount of music to warrant getting a Classic.

Even better, why not convert your music to 16kbp/s MP3 audio for the optimum audio quality to size ratio.

Facepalm. Guys, leave your music as lossless as can be when using this, ok?
