It looks slick and stylish. Remote is responsive and it's got a GREAT price, costs much less then most docking stations but audio quality is not compromised. Fantastic Buy.

Yep.

Got this a week ago and the audio quality is quite good. It's compatible with all ipods except the shuffle (I own a classic and a touch, they both work and the nano would also work. Alarm clock works good enough, you can wake to ipod/radio/beep, and you get two different alarms.

Cons: Time resets if machine is switched off, however it does have a backup battery included so if you put one of those inside this won't happen.

Navigation takes a bit of getting used to but it's quite straightforward.

Summary: It's not the best dock, but for £17.99 it's very good considering it's quite small compared to others.

I'd agree with everything SamuraiShadow says. I think it's another one of those things like the Aldi spotting scope and you really have to emphasise the "for-the-money" part.

We bought one for my daughter and for the money I think it's pretty decent. Sound quality is perfectly adequate. I think a lot of people complained when they were using it with an iPhone that you get a buzzing sound and you had to put it into {GOT IT!} flight mode. My daughter uses it with her iPod touch and she's very happy.

Sure you can get better sound and built quality but I haven't seen anything similar at this price.

Just a bit of a warning - DOES NOT WORK WITH IPHONE!
other than that I got one at xmas and the sound quality and everything else is great!

Saw this in PCworld last weekend for £14.97 - looked very cheap and platic, but display looked nice.

Had 2 now, different brands but same model. first one went bang!! Play very good, eventually, and refunded. Came back on offer, so bought another again for the bedroom. Think you will struggle to get anything similar for the price. (except the Hitachi one I got from Currys last year- for £17.99 (inc DAB)!!
#11
works great but the clock light is VERY bright at night.

Got mine yesterday will be sending it back, cant set the time! Also the volume buttons on the actual unit dont work! Works on the remote however! Sound quality is alright and goes pretty loud too bad I cant set the time!

Contrary to previous posts this works with my iphone 16gb 3gs. It plays and charges. Very good value altho my other half has struggled to change alarm seems very footery.
:)

I bought one of these for my girlfriend and am fairly pleased for the price...the bright light can easily be dimmed or switched off during night if it annoys you, and the buzzing from interference isn't half as bad now in this newer model. Sound quality is decent and has a handy remote plus alarm clock. For a budget dock it does the job. Heat added.

Got this for my sister for xmas of play. It was the deal of the day think it was £9.99 might have been £14.99 though so I wouldn't say this is a good deal. She was very happy with it.

Does what it says on the tin. Is an ideal bedside radio clock / alarm. sound is pretty mediocre like a bedside radio.

But then that's exactly what I was after, just something to amplify podcasts while still charging.

Alarm is horrible. But why would you not use iPhone anyway?!

All in all you get what you pay for in life. Want a decent dedicated iPhone player comparable with. A decent bookshelf stereo then get Bose / Yamaha.

Otherwise this fine for a basic bedside radio / clock & iPhone player

It DOES work with iphone, I use mine every night to charge phone overnight. To stop buzzing I put phone onto airplane mode....easy.
Only con is that the display is really bright and lights up the room lol .

Bought one at Xmas for my son, pleased with it, IMO by the time he goes to Uni next year there will be some other type of gadget out and he won't want to take this with him, so great for the price.

I would really like one as well but I want digital radio on mine........I would like to wake up to high quality Classic FM sound.

Bought that a year ago or so and am happy with it - my wife uses it in the kitchen.

However couldn't use it in the bedroom: Even the lowest brightness is way too bright for a bedroom, so shame about that. Sound is however much better than what I had expected for the size and price. Price is alright as well, heat added.

Does it work with very old ipods as they changed the conenctions?
#24
Bought this ages ago - the model I got had a faulty LCD, and numbers would not show properly. The blue light got annoying very quickly, so I opened it up and pulled the plug!

One thing that let me down is the inability to move between playlists on my iPod using the remote. But if you use it for its play/forward/backwards/pause remote functionality, that works fine.

Recommended for something cheap yet sturdy.

Bought one of these at xmas time for similar price and was very disappointed. Returned and got a refund from play.com. Battery compartment small clip broke straight away and sound quality was absolutely awful. Shop around for something better!!

Am lookin. But is digital any better. Friend says still disappointed by poor quality digital sound in her bedroom.

Mine stopped charging my ipod after 14 months

this is a rubbish piece of kit. save your money and go for something decent.

be aware that this machine buzzes at night. not great if you're a light sleeper.

also, it makes an awful racket when you charge your ipod and play music at the same time.

its cheap looking and very nasty.

i'm gutted i wasted my money

Blue displays are usually a bad choice for alarm clocks as they tend to be too bright.
#31
Mine arrived yesterday and my first impressions are that for £12.99 (used £1.00 voucher code) you won't go far wrong. Considering its size and obvious cheap build it sounds surprisingly good. Works fine as a bedside alarm clock with my iPod 120gb 5th Gen and iPhone 32Gb 3Gs.

There is some interference when the iPhone is used on normal mode but should be OK in when set to Airplane mode.

There is bound to be better out there but most probably costing considerably more.

For a set of cheap portable speakers + charger this is fine. I wouldn’t trust it as a regular alarm clock though.

You can change the brightness by pressing the snooze button hard, including completely off, which is how I have it.

I use this to charge my iPhone 3G every night and it works fine for that - I dont put it into plane mode, but there is a message asking about plane mode when I plug it in. Sound quality is reasonable (I only tend to use it as speakers on holiday)

I ordered one of these last week, it arrived recently, I'm pretty happy with it except for the fact that when I set the alarm to use the radio, the radio does come on at the right time but the volume just gets louder and louder. Is this right ? Can I just set it for the radio to come on at a single volume (and stay at that volume) ?

True, but the choice is between very very bright, very bright and off. I like to see the time during night, which won't work with completely off ;) And both 'on' brightness levels are so strong, they light up the entire room.
