Could someone correct the link to Argos having a bit of trouble at the moment

I bought this in Sainsburys a day or two back (last one Fosse Park, Leicester) and it doesn't seem to work on my 4G 'click wheel' 40gb. I'll keep it as I was planning to upgrade my Ipod soon anyway but just a word of warning for anyone considering. 35 quid is stupid money for what it is...you can buy a whole MP3 or even a whole DAB or FM radio for less than that!

hi, can anyone advise me if there is anything i can buy that'll allow me to listen to the radio on my ipod touch whilst i'm out n about? i think i recall seeing something for the ipod classic, but didnt see anything for the touch, although this was a while ago....

So is this compatible with the iPod Classic?
#5
It seems to be this Remote which is compatible with 5th generation Video, Classic and Nano only. If they have one in my local store I’ll be really happy.
#6
Hope it works ok with my 80GB classic. I'll have to pick one up tomorrow

thanks

is this definitely the official apple version?

Why not just buy a cheap portable FM radio.

Why not just buy a cheap portable FM radio.

Because I don’t know of any cheap portable FM radios that work as a remote control for my iPod. :w00t:

It is compatible with the Classic, I bought one earlier this year with my CPW voucher.

Worth mentioning that although I didn't buy it for the FM radio funtionality I haven't managed to tune into a single station yet!

I actually bought it for changing tracks without taking my iPod out of my pocket. As it uses the dock connector it is also supposed to bypass the volume limiter, but I haven't noticed any difference.

You will also get a new set of Apple earphones included in the pack.

I tried my local store in South Wales and they are labelled at full price and scan at the full price. I’m glad I phoned them rather than drove in; they were really helpful on the phone.

Also spotted IPOD UNIVERSAL DOCK for £8.50 spec as follows
Compatible with all iPods with dock connector (Excludes Shuffle).
Connects to PC or Mac via USB cable, TV or stereo via AV cable sold seperately.
Includes remote control.
1 3V battery supplied.
my brother works in the bakery in my local sainsburys ( tunbridge wells ) and has told me these are not available at all stores.
I brought the radio remote and have tuned in radio one , radio 2 , classic fm , my local KMFM , and another station not sure what it is though.

I posted earlier to say this didn't work with my 4G ipod. I'm planning on getting an 80gig soon so it will come in handy. Whilst I was there I did also notice the dock at 5.99 in my store. Not sure why it requires a battery. I have an official dock station and a 3rd party IR remote version and neither require a battery?

There was a post earlier that said their store had these at 35 quid. I saw mine in the glass cabinet the day before I actually bought mine and there was a Sainsburys red discount sticker, 35 quid down to 8.50. I thought about it overnight and went in the next day to buy it. However, when I went the the red sticker wasn't visible. I asked for the radio remote and the assistant opened the cabinet and scanned on his remote price scanner thingy. He intended to get one from stock but clearly this was the last one. He knew it should be 8.50 but it was scanning at 35quid. He was very helpful and then I spotted the sticker in the cabinet. We went to another till to pay and again it scanned at 35. The bar code on the box and the bar code on the red sticker are slightly different even though it refers to the same item. In the end he did a manual discount.

Incidentally there were also some good prices on cameras although none suited me. The Thomson 250Gb PVR with Setanta sports was also 99 quid. same price as website but you can walk away with it at Sainsbury's. This site is about saving money but you end up buying borderline stuff you half want if it's a bargain!

Just phoned Glasgow stores and she checked the sytem - none in stock in Scottish stores :( Oh well I suppose it saves me a wasted trip round looking for it
#17
In my local store (Hull) they are still £35.00
#18
Anyone know whether this is nationwide?
#19
For those of you encountering 35 quid please see my earlier post, it scans at 35 quid but you have to be lucky enough to somehow get the 8.50 code.

Incidentally to clarify what I said re the radio not working on the 4G ipod - it works as a remote but not as a radio. It doesn't come up in the menu as per the instructions. However you can adjust volume, stop/start, jump track.

For £8.50 this is an amazing deal for an FM radio on Ipod. :) But does anyone know if there is an AM as well as FM radio receiver for Ipods? Want to get my brother one for his 4th gen Ipod, so he can pick up the football on Five Live. I've seen DAB devices (idab, robi) but reception is said to be really bad when on the move, so may not be much fun on the bus/train home.

Yes, I did note from the thread that this was for 5th gen onwards, and I think it's a fantastic deal so I've voted it HOT. I was also asking if anyone was aware of any Ipod radio that comes with an AM receiver too, as I haven't been able to find one. For people who want radio 5 live, it seems the iDAB or robi, with DAB receivers are the only option (and robi isn't compatible with the 4th gen). Anyway, hope lots of people got the FM deal for this fantastic price

Did anyone get this deal apart from the OP? It was £35 in my local store.

Scanned at £35 - Sainsbury's Ventura Park Tamworth.
