Through the fascia/faceplate on the front of the headunit, the interface allows you to change tracks etc.

One thing I'm not sure about.... What iPod's does it support? doesnt seem like an itouch would fit there, would it take the new gen nano?
#5
you push the ipod in and then put the fascia on top by the looks of it.... looks ace.
#6
I want it..but i'm selling my car soon so i'm gonna have to wait and see what system my next car has.
#7
oh right, the ipod goes all the way in... nice good price
#8
If Apple would wise up and add AD2P to their devices you wouldn't even need to push the ipod in.

Until then I'll carry on using AD2P without Apple.
#9
I think this has a CD player built in too.

Looks like a branded/unbranded version of this http://www.fenceaudio.no/product.cfm?id=11&path=1

Can you connect a Sub Woofer to this head unit?!?
#23
I have an iphone and wanted to have a streaming bluetooth audio CD player for the car to hook it up with.

I went for this Sony one at Halfords........... (Was about £129.99 with free fitting when i got it a few weeks ago)

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_503993_langId_-1_categoryId_165474

then bought a bluenext bluetooth adaptor to plug into my iphone to give it a AD2P profile so they can connect to each other. this will also work with ipod touch etc.

(do a search for bluenext - iphone)

Works perfectly! the stereo also has built in handsfree calling :)

Works out quite a bit more expensive than this deal but its an option if you want a nice looking unit and perfect bluetooth link-up from your iphone or ipod touch etc...

The Sony BT stereo's are very good. I've been using the earlier BT2500 model for years now with AD2P/AVRCP on various phones. works well with Symbian Nokia's.

Great "I'VE GOT AN IPOD IN MY CAR" advert for those with sticky fingers.

cheap nasty ****.

awful sound quality and build.

IMO of course... better off spending a bit more and buying a decent one.

i bought a Pioneer head unit 5 years ago, its been in 4 cars, covered around 75,000 miles and still looks and plays like new.

Have you actually tried this model or are you just assuming it's crap?

Yes it does, it was never enabled. OS 3.0 will enable A2DP.

Can anyone comment on A2DP with regards to occasional dropouts in music playback, does the signal drop out or change speed sometimes? I've tried it (on wireless headphones) and found those problems highly annoying.

Also is the ID3 tag transfered to the Head Unit?

If you register at their newsletter you get an additional £3 off £50 voucher code.
Damn! I saw it after I ordered one...
H&R added btw!
#35
Ive got a Sony bluetooth headunit with ipod adaptor, handfree calls from iphone, charges and plays music from it. Perfect setup but did cost about £180 a year ago.
Good price on this item though.
#36
Well I've ordered one from Maplin (with 4% quidco  ), if it turns out to be poor quality I'll take it back on the weekend.

It's also worth noting that even the bigger companies like Pioneer and Sony sell rebadged OEMs and no-ones none the wiser i.e. would people still assume it was **** if it had a Pioneer logo on it?

If its any good I'll post some pics up with a lickle review of the head

Shame its not 2p more, could have used my £3 voucher as well

I never wanted to buy an Ipod or anything Apple but this might be the cheapest most sensible way to get my entire collection into my car.
Where the hell are SDHC Car stereos?

Cheapest way is with USB or SD storage. an 8GB USB stick is about £10 for a good make like Sandisk. But how much is an 8GB iPod?.... £100?

SDHC=compatible with cards bigger than 4GB.

Yeah the same problems with bluetooth streaming, it doesnt happen that often though.
