only good if you a fan of apple ipod if not i would probaly get creative zen stone plus which is much better in price same sort of size and bonus is it has display track and bigger memory. Amazon is the place to get it. only know this coss that wht i did after hours of reseach. plus you dont need no software to put music drag and drop just like a usb stick.

£34 link above 2GB

i got greedy and bought the 4GB for £80 lol

A lot more favourable reviews on Amazon for the Shuffle than some Creative I've never previously heard of.

At this price you can't argue and I will probably get one for running.
#5
Excellent price, think i will wait for the 2gb tho
#6
fantastic little beast - I've had the 1 gig for about a year now, I'll definitely be getting the 2 when it comes out. Brill price.

That sounds ominous, do they really only last about a year?

A friend just bought the 2GB Sansa Express from Amazon for £25.
You can add memory to it via its micro SD slot (transflash).

It doubles up as a card reader for her Nokia Phone Camera.

ive had my shuffle for year and a half and i use it everyday for running and it's still going strong. It's a great little thing, will def be getting the 2gb when it comes out.

If you're not an apple snob the sansa clip is also a worthwhile alternative:

This is my personal opinion but why get a player that ties you into using AAC and itunes? :?

At Play.com they have the 2gb Zen and a free official armband for £35 + quidco. Looks the better deal to me as nice as the shuffle is the lack of screen is it's main drawback. A drawback that gets worse the more storage it has.
#13
It's still a ripoff if you ask me...

You can use other file formats on iPods.

In fairness, the Zen Stone is a great product, got the 4GB and it was definitely a Brucey bargain.
#16
About time the 1GB came down in price. Like others use this all the time when out running and have had mine for over a year without problem. I suspect it will drop further in price when the 2GB version takes off.

Well, nobody did ask you ... ;-)

Why on earth anyone would want to buy anything with the poor reliability of an apple is beyond me

Try the products of a company which really understand soundcards and MP3`s like Creative .

I have a Creative Zen Stone - it was only £30 and has twice the battery life and reliabilty of the Apple ...

Very bluntly put, but I have to agree. Zen stone plus is cheaper, has a screen, has bigger memory, better choice of colours, better battery life...the list goes on. If you still insist on buying a shuffle then this is probably the best price you will find it :)

I have been using apple products for years and ever had issues with any of them

My boss bought 200 of these at £100 each!! Gave one to me, and I love it.

Great price

Do you know if it's compatible with the Nike+ range of trainers? I would quite like to have updates on how far I'm running etc etc.....

Cheers

Good Price BTW. I am sure Argos are like £48 or something...

Nike+ only works with the Nano as you need to be able to attach the receiver and the Shuffle only has a headphone jack.

I dont know how accurate the Nike+ system is but I always go out with a Garmin Forerunner GPS - https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=142&pID=348 - and upload the results to motionbased.com so have no need for Nike+.

Actually the lack of screen is a major plus point to the shuffle. I have a 1Gb version my wife bought for me and it's perfect for using when down the gym as, if I drop it, there's nothing to damage. I normally treat my gadgets like they're made of glass but the shuffle just gets thrown into bags, chucked around and generally abused and it hasn't missed a beat.

Gotta say, my experience with iPods started with the old Mini and since then we've had a Mk2 Nano, Mk2 Shuffle, Mk 3 Nano and a Touch and they are ALL still working perfectly and, with the exception of the 3 year old Mini occasionaly needing a reset, I haven't seen a glitch or single moment of doubt when using them. They do everything I want them to do without any fuss and that's enough for me.

Call International Organization for Standardisation! This person has created a numerical value for the comparison of reliability! What are the SI units?

I think the zen stone is a better deal anyway. I was going to get the 4GB stone plus, but not its gone up to something like £60. Should have got it when it was still £40. And now I really need a new mp3 player.
#28
Buy it from Play.com for £32 and you wont be charged delivery!

Might have to treat myself to a purple one at this price :) I have an 80GB classic and it is brilliant, we have had a few different ipods over the last few years and no problems whatsoever.
#30
I'd still go for the Sansa Clip over the shuffle if you want VFM.

Allright, thanks. I've been looking at the Garmins. Just a wee bit expensive for me.

Another silly question - does it have to be the new ones or can it be a 2nd Gen?

Fair point on most apart from the battery life. It doesn't have better battery life. Got my brother one for xmas. It's still a good product though, a bit bigger than the shuffle though.

The Shuffle offers something incredibly small and flat, lighter (the difference doesn't mean anything though) and better battery life, sometimes by up to double we found.

I've got the older 1st gen Shuffle too. Still going strong. Cost me £60 about 2-3 years ago I think. Got so much use out of it, and it's never failed on me.

Call me stupid but if it doesn't have a screen how do you know what song/album you have selected ?:?

So If I want to jump to a particular Album, I have to listen to the start of several songs before I reach the album I want ?
#36
Nice Find
#37
quick question, wrong place i know but a friend asked me to put some music on it.

I put 2 albums on to it. How do I skip albums ? (being that there isnt a display)
Plus one album dont seem to be in the correct order any way to sort that ?
#38
IMHO this is not a hot deal - this is the price they are now. Find it cheaper than this and then thats a hot deal. :)

(sorry for being picky - but this is the rrp now!)
#39
I think its good to highlight that it is being sold for that price, because some other companies I have seen are still selling it for alot more.

Apple are currently offering free delivery and free engraving on it.
