Hot.

Is this the same as the £329 one on the apple store? Or are there older model? If it's the same voted hot!
#4
excellent deal voted hot
#5
It's last years model, without camera and face time. Apple sell it refurbished for £250.

amazing price really for a 64GB touch can't believe it isn't hotter than it is even if this model is a year old seriously thinking about getting 1 heat added
#7
Just go an iPod to use as a remote control for my pc ... Wish I'd seen this one instead!
#8

I'm regretting more and more buying an ipod touch 4g (8gb) for £160.

Who bloody cares about facetime...
#11
its a great device. i got mine last year and i still think its decent, you dont really need a webcam on a mp3 player and face time is a load of rubbish. the battery life is decent on these. imagine having this in one pocket and a iphone in the other :O

What about the faster processor which makes sure you can play/use all of the latest games/apps?

is this leading to some sort of 'trouser elephant' thing?

Anyways nice deal i had the 64gb for a while, managed to have every Sopranos episode on there at once. But then is that really necessary? I returned it and got iphone 16gb for a few quid more
#15
same price as the 8gb 4G. Facetime's worth it.
#16
ordered mine on xmas eve, but not expecting to get it til around new year, a good deal if you dont want the facetime (Which i think is a bit point when nearly every1 has a webcam or a phone that can do it)

now to sell my 80gb classic

Yes it does. As well as the iPod generally running faster, you have Apps/Games launching/loading faster. There is also a noticeable lag in older generation compared to the new generation in certain games (especially those heavy on 3D graphics). Then there's the extra features which the added juice enables such as Multitasking.

shall i buy this or a ps3...

PS3 is pretty awesome, best thing I've bought if you consider all the things it does.

Tempted by this too, just because I need a hard drive player, not too fussed about a web cam, we've got four devices that do that already (HTC and Blackberry, plus a Flip) so this could be good.
#21
Ps3 or touch?

Chalk and cheese so you really have to think about what you want. If you want to cabbage in front of you tv and spend £30+ on games then get the Sony. If you want a versatile media player with games that start from free, get the Apple.

It's your choice ...

Damn, now I'm even more confused. little 'un wants to buy an Ipod Touch with Xmas money (against my better judgement) - does she go for the 8gb 4G or this one? This seems better value with the extra space.
She just really wants it for a few hundred songs, the apps/games (although I wouldn't even know where to start with them!) and a movie or two as well as the wifi to watch Youtube/Facebook etc.
She has a camera on her phone and I gather facetime is restricted to other Ipods so no great biggy there.

If there was a 16gb 4G then that would be ideal but there isn't , and I have a morbid fear of all things Apple, probably because i don't understand iTunes and all that and have never used it.
Been trying to persuade her to wait for the dualboot Viliv P3 Android PMP with WiFi or the iRiver K1 Smart but feel that for her at least this may be a decent compromise.
Hot price for this from what I can see.

Just to put things in perspective, as I bought a 32GB version of this for my wife last Xmas. The processor in this is obviously not as fast as the 4G Iphone or Ipod Touch and the screen is not the retina display. However, its been well documented (just check Ilounge.com for their reviews) that the 3G Ipod Touch had better capabilities than the Iphone 3GS coming out after that product. Games load faster and it had better graphics rendering. So its nowhere as slow as people make it out to be and is faster than the Iphone 3G and the 3GS. Its only a fraction slower than my Iphone 4 as well.

For me, 64GB is a nice attraction, and if you are mostly buying it for movies and music, and not games that have been optimised to use the latest Retina display, then is bit of a bargain considering Apple prices.

i gave my son my 16gb ipod touch 2nd gen to buy this 64Gb 3rd gen earlier this year, paid £250 on fleabay and it is the best gadget i have ever had...use it everyday for music, movies, web browsing, facebook and the games wow, runs everything i want...I love a gadget, i have blackberry, flip, psp macbook etc etc But this is the top gadget and at this price it's a no brainer imho...£329 for the 4th gen or £179 for this, no contest....
#29
Hot.

I just need to resist buying now.

Iphone went this year and I've had a Desire as a replacement. Music player is decent enough, but thinking now that long term a touch is the way forward due to the extended battery life compared to the phones, as when travelling the short battery life is a pain. Plus the ability to have most of music in one place, will save having to chop and change all the time.

How do you use internet on this? we have sky broadband!
Really tempted by this but can' decide between this, 4th gen and I phone.
Any advice would be appreciated.

What things can it do other than playing music.
