Good spot

My daughter works in Asda's so I hope its this price instore + her 10% discount.
#4
im hoping afriend can do the same. ;)
#6
good deal wish it they did the 64gb my 1st gen touch 8gb touch is a bit dated now :(
#7
do they charge delivery ???
#8
It's 4.95 delivery but QuidCo is 8% which is like £18 off
#9
cheapest I can get this for is £233.83 from my work with free shipping but with the quidco this may be slightly better if it's 8% cash back
#10
Good price. I remember paying £220 for a 20GB 4th Gen iPod. Black & White screen and not much else.
#11
I'm a bit of a quidco newbie, how do I get the 8% off? I already have an account. Thanks in advance.
#12
Go to Quidco. In search box, type Asda. On the links go to Asda.com, when that opens click on the 'get cashback' button. After a few seconds Asda will open in a new window, and shop as normal.

According to cashback stats you should see your purchase track in a day and it'll be paid into you account after a couple of months, depending on you settings, and probably minus the £5 annual fee if this is your first purchase.

really can't understand why this is hot. its only 8quid cheaper than rrp once you've added delivery. that's a whole 3% saving folks - whoopeee.
even if you do get quidco / topcashback that is only 11% cheaper than rrp. since when did this become lukewarmdealsuk or slightlycheaperthansomewhereelsedealsuk ? :|

jsut log into the quidco site and get to the asda link via quidco by selecting it from the index of merchants.

because of the fact that finding any apple ipods below rrp is very very rare and its a good deal compared to elsewhere.
#16
i see they do a 8gb version too is this the same model inside as i know the previous versions had slower cpus and slower graphics so were pretty crap at playing games

This time the 8gb also has the boosted hardware: retina display, increased ram, 1ghz cpu ,camera, etc

This is a good deal if you compare the prices with other retailers. This is not about whether you think it is 'ridiculously overpriced' to begin with, that is not the point. And there is no real competitor to the ipod touch anyway.
#22
Zurich said "but they are ridiculously overpriced to begin with"

If that were true, wouldn't you expect someone to have made a cheaper competing product by now?
#23
ordered, thanks. better than apple EPP deal. anyone knows how long it takes for quidco to track the item?
#24
Voted hot from me, no matter what others think.
#25
glad i could help you out.
#26
Oddly, there are far more rabid anti-Apple people on here than Apple fanboys.

I think Apple are control freaks thanks to Steve Jobs approach to business, and hate them for it - but I acknowledge the iPhone/iPod/iPad devices are hugely successful because they are so much better than the competition.

Anyway, hot deal for a great device, that IMHO is fair value for money.

but they are ridiculously overpriced to begin with

So what would be a better DAP to get then? I'm using s first gen touch ATM & it seems slow & clunky now after using my iPhone 4. I already have a portable amp (RSA SR-71A) so I'm not interested in anything like the Hifiman HM-801 with its built in amp. I like the Cowon players (J3 or S9 both look good) & the battery on them is great but the lack of a true line out puts me off. I would love a Sony X1060 but without any support for lossless files or even gapless playback its not even getting a look in.

This is where you come in. Please tell me what player to get instead of the new Touch that will tick all the boxes & obviously has more than 11% its RRP (otherwise its not a good deal)

Ha ha, ipods better than the competition - Sony walkmans trounce them, just read reviews from owners of ipods who have bought Sonys afterwards!

Anyway good price compared to the going rate, but yes, overpriced as a product so not voting.
#30
Compare what the iPod Touch does with what the walkman does. Then come back here and debate with some knowledge :)

My kids use their iPod touches primarily as games consoles and media devices to go online for example. Graphically it's better than any portable console available for example. Our PSP has lain dormant for a year now, and only these devices and the DS's get used.

(I do know the iPods don't have the best sound quality of all MP3 players btw.)
#31
16.07 tracked by quidco. that's the amount before VAT and PP
#32
Great price - thanks a million!
