I am looking for something to replace my aged and slightly broken Dell X51V PDA - just to listed to audio books really. I use the Coreplayer and love its functionality.
Whilst I have considered the "Touch" it seems to offer more than I would need and so has anyone used an MP3 type player that has a reasonable sized screen to see the audio files and add them sequentially to a play list that is any good...?
Ideally I would like BT (A2DP for headset) and a 3.5mm audio connection.

Thanks.

I have this model and was looking to upgrade to IOS6 however the size of the install stopped me, with it installed you get between 5-6gb for songs and movies.

Wow! Thanks! That's the last of my main Xmas presents bought for my three kids. I can't afford the 5th Gen and I think I won't get the 4th gen any cheaper than this! Spot on. Over the moon!! :-)

The latest iPod shuffle has a little button that will announce the name of the track through the headphones. Some Staples stores may still have them for £25 in their clearance bin/ table.

I have my Audible books on one I picked up a few weeks ago, and am surprised how good it is. The physical buttons can be felt inside a pocket, and together with the track annoucement make it very practical, with 2GB hard to fill with non-music.

lmao at whoever voted this hot or would ever pay that for a 4th gen 8gb hahaha

Thanks OP...my twins wanted one each for Chrimbo.....did 2 orders to got them both for £127 :)

I got one for my son last Chrimbo and they love playing on it.....I know some peeps are dissing the offer but I personally think it's pretty good in comparison with other retailers especially with me having to buy 2....at the end of the day it does what they need it to do...they can take pics, use facetime, play games, listen to music and watch vids.

Is this the ultimate present or something?
I have never seen a product on HUKD where 4 out of 23 comments mention that they buy it as a present.
Similarly, the first 4 reviews on the Sainsbury's site mentions present as well. Does no one buy this for themselves?
I've never seen a TV, console, blu-ray player, mobile phone etc. where tons of people talk about buying it as a present.
How bizarre. :|

Nice, tnx <3

Thanks, bought as a present to my gf.

does this mount the famous Retina screen?! if so, 8gb fuss apart, i say it's a damn fine console/entertainment center for such a paltry sum.
#29
You could get an Android or even a Windows PHONE for this sort of money :|
True it maybe slower, of poorer build quality and with a lower resolution screen but still.. I know waaaaay to many people who carry both an iPod and a phone around with them (Which is just stupid..)

If you're willing to spend this sort of money on a glorified MP3 player why not blow some more on an iPhone? Or maybe an older gen iPad if you only want to use the Apple ecosystem part.. Or maybe even a shuffle or a micro?
It's wifi only anyway.. Its not as though you will be able to use it as anything more than a mp3 / handheld games console while on the go

But if you're still thinking of getting one consider this: It's only 8GB and has no mobile data connection (for cloud streaming). HD movies are getting larger every day. Music files are topping 10-20mb each and some games are using 200mb+
I know people who were having issues with the older 2nd / 3rd gen 8gb iPods who were struggling when songs were only 2mb each and games were barely more than 10mb
