8GB ipod touch £149.97

with a FREE £25 itunes card

could see that as £25 off!!!

£25 to spend on apps, you can get quite a few apps with that

saw this in the new malden tesco,
not sure if the tag implies a free £25 itunes card with any ipod nano, classic or touch. since there was on the ipod touch there.

My teenage lad broke his Ipod Touch earlier this evening. Apparently his friend's younger brother jumped on him and caused him to drop it on the floor, cracking the screen in the process. He came home asking for an iphone to replace it (hell has obviously frozen over). I've just this minute bought a replacement digitizer and bezel (the glass screen and casing) off Ebay for £17. Oh, what joy. I am so looking forward to sitting there fixing the damn thing....not.

EDIT: In case you're wondering why I posted that, the answer is simple; I just felt like adding to the randomness of it all.

Just to let people know the Ipod touch deals are likely cus of the impending release of a much rumoured new Ipod touch with camera.
so it may be worth waiting for those who are bothered about stuff like that.

If they released one with at least decent sound quality, I may be tempted.

IMO ipod touch is better than the iphone because of battery life, iphone battery is very poor if u need a phone just get a different one that is much cheaper and battery life would last much longer. The problem is that apple will release the 4G version which will include a camera , it's better to hold out until August/ Sept for the next release.

Feel free to contradict me if I have my facts wrong, but this isn't a terribly good buy because:

If all you want is an 8GB MP3 player, there are plenty of better sounding and cheaper options around.

Unlike the rest of the Touch range, this model wasn't refreshed last Autumn.

You might not care too much about having an old model but there's a new version of the operating system due very soon. This has a form of multi-tasking and numerous other improvements but I'm not sure that you get all the features on older hardware. Certainly this is true of older iPhones. I'm not sure if it's true of this model.

I'd be disinclined to buy a Touch at all at the moment because a new model is bound to be around the corner. If you really must, I'd build in a little bit of future proofing by getting the next one up in the range.

this seems to be instore only as there is no offer when trying to get it delivered.

I wouldn't call a little over 3 months away 'Impending'.

Argos & Currys deals are better than this Tesco one, which I'd normally vote hot but it's cold compared to the other two :)

Lots of deals, because it's soon to be an old generation --- but nobody will just reduce the price, it's always rubbish extras you don't want or vouchers. I'll have one if they reduce the price to £120 and no b/s.
