Same offer in Tesco on Ipod touch £148.97 or Nano and classic.

Excellent deal!
The iPod Touch also makes a great web browser/email client - which is why I bought mine - and as its via WiFi uses your existing Wireless Broadband rather than costly call/data charges.

Wish they had updated the 3rd-gen. 8GB with the same improvements as the 32 & 64GB, if they had I would definitely upgrade from my 2nd-gen.

Sorry for being dim, but cant find the £25 voucher mentioned anywhere. . . . is that just a standard freebie with a new ipod nowadays?

Been looking out for one of these for my daughters Birthday coming up,Sure i spotted these posted on here at around the £130 mark. Not really sure what im buying though,ie like 4 like.Is there a big difference then beetween 2nd and 3rd gen ? What shoud i be looking for as a new purchase ??
#10
Good deal, but 8GB is gen 2. I went for the 3rd gen and the speed of it is much faster. glad I spent the extra £70, and gives 4 times the memory to boot!

How do the 3G differ from the 2G's in respect of browsing and games ? The reason I ask is that I was intending to buy my sons an 8Gb iTouch 3G each for Christmas but I understand there is no such thing as an iPod Touch 8GB 3G !

I really can't afford the extra £150 it will cost to buy two 32GB 3G's.

Thanks for the pushes guys. :p I already have an 8GB nano... I guess I just want to "replace" it with this one, but then I don't know how much space apps take and whether 8GB will be enough, and is it good for browsing and checking mail on wifi, or will it take ages?

Harder question: what can you do with it? And none of the promo-talk, I want it said customer-to-customer. :p
#20
What do I do with it.... everything I would normally do on my NC10 barring web development and stuff that requires a bigger screen.

eMail: easy and works just as well as my netbook
FaceBook: ditto
RSS reader: ditto
Watch some freeview channels (tv catchup) More freeview to be added soon
BBC iPlayer
Twitter
You Tube
Stream Music from PC.
LastFM - Brilliant
LinkedIn
Listen to 5Live, 5Live SE Radio 1 and other radio stations
Run - with 'personal trainer' (OK it's not real....)
google earth and maps
ebay and amazon
Sky sports online

... and a few games.

That's what I use mine for - apps take up little space. I rarely listen to music from the iPod - I use LastFm most of the time.

The best money I've ever spent. Better than my beloved Samsung NC10 - and that was my favourite. I just take it everywhere.

Can I be really dim and untechnological here....

Presumably this doesn't involve any connection to a mobile network....I take it you have to have a wireless router at home for this to be able to use it at home. Then, when you're out and about - what sort of places do you actually get connection? Could you also use this abroad then as an alternative to a netbook? Would you get connection in the US?
#22
You can connect to the internet where you have a wireless connection and the authority to use it just like any laptop/netbook.

You do not have any special privileges.

yes :whistling:

No you don't have to have privileges just the Wi-Fi password.

Or you can go to McDonalds they have free Wi-Fi
#24
hi noob question - how can you tell if it is 2nd or 3rd generation that they are selling?

And is this deal still available I'm going to go shopping tomorrow?

Thanks:thumbsup:

Excuse another dim question - but can the itune voucher be used for apps / games or just tunes??
