Seems like they want these shifting, I nabbed one at £59.99 and thought it a bargain. Paired with a decent set of quality headphones you wont regret nabbing one.

Yup, I am gonna get one, even though I don't need one!

Most of my music collection is in AAC though!

Darn it. On a side note, whats the best file format (Sound/size of file) to use for music?
#5
got an iphone on order but that's another 2 weeks away, ordered this as a back up for this price as my zen's playing up.

I have an iphone, and just thought this would be good to just keep in the car connected to the aux in....

iRiver are top quality. If I hadn't just imported a P33 WiFi, I'd have definitely ordered this.

Just to note, this also has DMB so if you're ever in Korea you can watch TV on it as well.
#8
cheers for this and just bought one :)
#9
can you record sky on to this
#10
you could copy it over but the DMB won't work over here.

My own research showed that the Ogg format is best for efficiency, out performing MP3 in blind tests. So Ogg in 128-160kbps will be more than adequate. If you're a real audiophile, then Flac is lossless, as in perfect copy, but will be quite large, a 700mb cd will be about 300mb.

Looks good, however would I need this, in addition to an iPhone ? cheers

Good deal - been looking for some cheap portable video players and was looking at some rebadged 3 inch 4gb ones on ebuyer for £36 but Iriver are a good brand this looks a great deal...
#17
Comes with video encoding software on the disc which not the fastest gives very nice results, the Amoled screen is very good.
#18
Whats the volume like on these? I have been keeping an eye on these for a while and my K800i is on it's last legs and listening to mp3's is nigh on impossible.
#19
cheers, ordered one for keeping the smaller kid entertained when bigger kid at swim galas.

However, the battery life on my Spinn is a disgrace. I fully charge it up using a separately purchased adaptor and the battery bombs out when the player hasn't been used for 48 hours!!!

I don't commute to work so don't have the need to use the Spinn everyday. Nevertheless I would turn it on every other day for a few tracks when exercising. It's actually taking longer to charge up than the actual play time per charge!! If anyone else has had this problem I would appreciate if you could post your experience here.

From Amazon website - Would love one, not sure if it's old tech?

don't think its old tech at all.....
#22
guessing that's a faulty battery on his ? seen another on amazon praising the battery

!
The battery is great too! I have no idea what maH the lithium ion battery is but I dont have the heart to take my new player apart(i bought it a long time ago and it has some sentimental value to it) and I dont think it matters because the battery is 100% reliable. On one circumstance, the player was fully charged in 1 hour, and I played music and videos daily with it for about 5 days and with no further charge

You might have to turn off DMB, searching for a signal can waste a lot of battery. When I take my UK mobile phone over to Korea I have to put it on offline/airplane mode because GSM signal searching chews up the battery.

The battery is fine, you just need to alter the sleep mode to off mode. Kinda pee'ed that this is cheaper now... such is life =P. The video editting software which comes with this can be a pain as some files it doesn't like to work with. Downloading iriver plus 4 rather then 3 (3 comes with the player) may help. It's screen is 480 × 272 which is the same as a PSP so anything which has been editted for the PSP (wallpapers) will be a winner... not sure about moives thought. It doesn't like to work with the avi format in iriver plus, and avi is the main format I use.. but you could buy a program to edit avis.... hum

Does it have a built in speaker?

almost regret getting my 4GB Cowon D2... but suppose I do love its 50 hour battery life.

iRiver are top quality.

I guarantee my now ancient H340 out lasts my stupid iPod. It's now considered audiophile and worth a reasonable amount - no doubt more than my foolish replacement.

I really miss the drop/drag filetree, Rockbox, endless file formats and obscene power of my iRiver.

I'm still a firm believer that Apple intentionally stole iRiver's thunder by buying out all the 2.5" drives. Bitter...bitter. Apple saw a competitor well ahead of the game and wiped them out.

cant beat cowon, i have the S9.....unbeatable sound quality. for those on about iphones.....they wont even come close to this for sound quality

hot deal
#32
iRiver/Cowon just outprice/out-quality Apple. Checkout the new iRiver SmartHD.
#33
does it have a built-in speaker or is it headphone only ?
#34
The sad reality is that samsung betrayed its Korean compadres by practically creating the Nano for Apple.

LOL. You have the same condition as me mate. Repeat after me "My name is Duelling Duck and i'm a hotukdealer" Hopefully it'll soon be recognised as an illness and we can get treatment on the NHS.

Looks like a good deal so heated!

Does this come with a case?
#38
bought one too - not sure why either.... - apart from my love for all things OLED (Optimus Maximus for example)

iRiver produce superb kit, I had their MP3 players for years before a ZEN and (finally) an iPod. Unlike most manufacturers, they kept on coming out with firmware updates long after the kit was EOS, and on the only one of 8 that had a problem they replaced "no quibble" from the USA to the UK. Now THAT is customer service (and the exact opposite of Cowan policy - kit I would never touch again).

Guess I`ll need to raid the kids piggy bank then
