I can vouch for humax...it's great! Don't buy these cheapie hd boxes as once you get..you probably won't like it (freezing, lagging between channels..various other problems). However, I haven't bought or used the isis...so I wouldn't know!.

Is it just recording, or can you also pause and rewind?

Please do yourself a favour and stay away from these jokers.

I bought two items on 16th November.....

They have

- cancelled one of them once they'd told me it had been sent
- taken money from my account
- not delivered anything whatsoever
- lied to me several times
- told me they'd phone me several times (they didn't)
- told me they'd get back to me with answers several times (they didn't until I chased them)
- sent several generic e-mail responses, not answering any of my questions
- cut me off when on the phone when they haven't been able to solve anything.

They are still fobbing me off, blaming different departments within their organisation as to why they haven't sent it, why they don't know when it will be sent, or why they don't know anything about it.

I wouldn't dream of ordering from them again, and am at my wits end, so just thought I'd let you know my personal opinion of why I think this deal is cold.

Nice and cheap and what you get for £39.99 is great value for money.

However, it may be worth paying more to get one with a hard drive ability (allows you to rewind/record live TV) and twin tuner (watch one side and record another) which one couldn't expect, naturally, for a £39.99 package. As said, for what it does, this deal is hot - good spot OP.

EDIT - just seen the post above from Eldre submitted whilst I was writing - so although the price is hot; it's only hot providing you get service!

Humax Direct sell theHumax HD-FOXT2-G for £105 delivered. You can attach an external HDD to record.

Bit weird. When you DL the leaflet http://www.humaxdirect.co.uk/specsheets/HD-FOXT2_leaflet.pdf the only USB searches get "Play media contents in external HDD or memory through USB". Could I record onto a , say SandiskCruzer USB with this? I say weird as needing to record to external device seems a pretty big aspect of this device but the leaflet avaids mentioning it.

Well thats how I'm reading it although the poster reckoned it recorded and on Humax page it states needs external HDD to record to (not included). Like I said..seems weird and doesn't add up to me.

Ya need a proper external hardrive (usb powered will do)...to record. You can't just plug in a standard USB flash drive (key)...i've tried!

that would be a bit disappointing cos I wanted to use a flash drive, although I've 3 free ext drive enclosures and an unused 500Gb drive I've had for about a year from new and never opened it. Finally got a use for them.

Best Buy to be avoided. Tried to order one on Sunday night.....filled in everthing credit card etc..
credit card rejected. Tried phoning Monday morning held on 25minutes on mobile ...gave up.
Tried today on a land line another 25 minute job. Then told that as it was a new site banks were
rejecting payments ......obviously security issues !!!! Then told the price was £99.99 now instead of 39.99 asked if they would honour Sunday's price they said no........but offered a £20 discount. So effectively twice the price had their
website worked properly.......I requested they poke it.........waste of time
