Just walked in to my local co-operative store in Manchester and spotted this one.
Isle of Jura 10 Year Old / 70cl / 40% / Distillery Bottling
Single Island Malt Scotch Whisky
A very accessible, easy-drinking malt. Medium-bodied with a delicate sweet palate, with a hint of brine developing on the finish. A great introductory malt.

Doesn't sound a bad tipple: http://www.whiskymag.com/whisky/brand/isle_of_jura/whisky88.html

Plus a couple of online stores are charging over £20 a bottle.

Heat added.

Got a case of this from Makro cheap a few years ago, opened one bottle gave the other eleven away as Xmas presents. Cheap and nasty:w00t: bit like me:oops:

Great whisky and a very good price.

SL's long drink of the day: Large shot of Jura in a long glass, lots of ice, topped up with appe juice (good cloudy stuff works best).

If you seriously think this is “the best whisky to come out of Scotland” Then may I suggest you try Glenfarclas, or Benriach , Aultmore, Royal Brackla and even Glenmorangie.

I would list more but I feel that would just be showing off:whistling::p

Personal preference innit. For me, my everyday whisky would be Highland Park but for preferance I;d have Edradour but not many places sell it down here (and certainly not too many in the on trade)

Glenmorangie - not even close is it?...if i can buy it at a tesco express, it's not competing...

Benriach - a nice speyside, but the other speysides you list are bettered easily, apart from Aultmore, which I've never had so gets the benefit of the doubt...

apart from Jura (especially superstition), I'm an Islay man...

The Edradour comes from quite a small distillery if memory serves hence the limited availability in England greedy Scots :p

its the smallest distillery in Scotland (12 casks/week)
