Sorry if this has already been posted!

The £1 a roll offer is limited to the first 10,000 customers, is subject to availability and irrespective of how many customers have purchased the insulation the offer will end at midnight on 14th December 2009.

Loft insulation acts as a blanket, trapping rising heat from the house below. Without it, you could be losing as much as 15%* of your heating costs through your roof. If you currently have no insulation and install the recommended depth (270mm) you could save around £150* a year on your heating bills! Or if you already have some insulation, why not top it up to 270mm and feel even more warm and toasty?

Hurry, limited offer!

when you get transfered to the Build Centre web site there is nothing there??
#12
Hot, still got about 15 roles left from last time, i ordered 20 and they send me 36! Horrible job fitting this stuff though, if you doing it probably best to search for an installation guide. Make sure you wear the safety gear, do it when the house is cold (it gets hot with that mask on), get as much light as you can in the area and dont fall through the ceiling! Also you need to ensure that some air can still get into the loft otherwise you will end up with rotting joists. Finally make sure you dont fit under the water tank in the loft (if you have one) as it might end up freezing.

p.s if you can afford it get someone else to do it, cr&p job!
#13
I had 8 rolls on this deal in October - What a bargain, it came with gloves goggles and face mask.
Don't think you will get a better deal anywhere else.
#14
If you cant get through on the net, dial the 0800 529 529 direct number, or call any of the branches they can take the orders over the phone,
#15
If you're not in when they deliver 15 rolls, will they leave a card so you can collect it, or ask the neighbour to accept the delivery!!! Can it be left outside for a day if it's raining?

Someone has to sign for it, it will absorb water so best not left outside for long. Don't expect them to deliver at any time you have arranged either!!!

That's not what I was told when the depot phoned me to arrange delivery. The guy said it would have to be signed for. I was told it would be delivered on a Friday cos that's when they delivered in my area. A date was duly arranged but it didn't show up, so another date was arranged & it didn't show up again. It then turned up on the day after, Saturday!! But at the price I guess you can't complain, except I just have!!
#22
But it says average home is 55sq m and comes out at around 30 rolls?
What would you reckon to be right amount in a 3 bed 1950's bay front traditional style detched?
Also, if you have loft board flooring for storage and access , presumably it's ok to pack it down compressed under the floor panels?

Well you can. I can't see as people should be messed around especially as some of us are at work every day and probably have to take a day off. Nor would I want a load of wet insulation outside my house.
hopefully yours was one-off bad luck.

Still waiting for mine from the last offer woman on the phone said they had orders for 100.000 rolls in one day so you might be waiting a while

To those with the nonsense 'wet' insulation, where the hell do you think Buildbase keep wagon after wagon full, there yards are rammed with the stuff when this offer is on and its all out in the rain! Been to a stupid amount of BB's as we have an account with them. It can be left out in the rain, but I store it in the dry before installing as it smells like cat wee when left to get real wet. If you got nowhere, stack it and pull a tarp over it. Or just have the BB lorry lift the whole pallet full off with the plastic wrap around the lot, you'll only have a few loose ones to cover over then. To be honest if they are stacked horizontal then they dont get that wet even if it slams down, just the ends will be a bit wet - but hardly building problem of the year. This is such a good deal, awesome hot & well happy with my 20 rolls from last time, house is super insulated now :-)
#28
Great deal, got 9 rolls of the thick stuff last time. Easy to fit, just cover arms and hands well - your wrists are most vulnerable.

Had to wait a few weeks for delivery but well worth it. Beware though, they deliver without letting you know, so come home from work to a pallet of insulation on your drive!
#29
Great Deal....

where do you order the £1 roll from this site??.. http://shop.build-center.co.uk/build/basket.html

It comes from a builders merchant so its craned off the lorry and left outside regardless of wether your in or not (although they do phone half an hour before delivery) Multiples of 9 come plastic wrapped on a pallet so are waterproof, loose rolls will be open at top and bottom so will get wet.

As someone else said these are the large rolls that can be cut into 3 rolls when fitting, so if you order the maximum amount then that over 3 pallets full, make sure you do a rough calculation on what you actually NEED rather then just ordering the maximum or you will probably get too much.

Plasterboard is not designed to be stood on, you must keep your feet on the joists.

God knows how you completely fell through the gap between the roof timber- maximum it would have been is 600mm(new house) and 400mm older houses.

Either you are a bean pole and went straight down or a 30 stoner and took the joists out!!!

Leave it to the pro's LOL:p

we had 5000 rolls to deliver

trouble is we get massively snowed under and if your not in when we deliver as arranged it will get left
i can only speak for my branch but if we say it will be delivered on a particular day it will be
but in my experience most customers say a delivery day and then are not there wen we arrive

you are allowed 100 sqm of each size which works out at 27 rolls of 170mm and 17 rolls of 100mm
there is no average matey you need to measure up
an rough way is to pace to 2 sides of your house heal to toe is about 400-500mm so do 2 sides and multiply to get approx sq meterage ie 10 full paces =5m

so if it was 5x5 you would have 25 sqm:)

Got some of this last time around it came on 5 pallets ! lucky that i have a large shed to store it in, the delivery driver said they were sick to death of the stuff at the depot as it was taking up so much space.
Was passing a build centre near Aberystwyth yesterday they had 2 pallets of the n power insulation stacked on top of each other on the roadside by the entrance with £1 a roll advertised on it.
