This was previously on offer until the 1st November, but has been re-introduced as from today.

The glitch is that ALL wine and champagne is 25% off when you buy 6 bottles AND Prestige Cava is on offer 2 bottles for £10.

The glitch gives you both discounts, in cash terms not percentages, example:

6 bottles of Cava (Brut / Medium Dry) * £7.49 = £44.94
Less 25% = (£11.22)
Less 2 for £10 = (£4.98)
Less 2 for £10 = (£4.98)
Less 2 for £10 = (£4.98)

TOTAL TO PAY = £18.78 (£3.16 per bottle)

That's a saving of £26.16 or 58% off.

I couldn't see an expiry date, but I know the last time they did the 25% off promotion it ran for about 4 days, so be quick.

PS: Not sure if it's the same in all stores, but the Cava was quite hard to locate in Worthing, it was on a bottom shelf, right in a corner, maybe the staff are hiding it for themselves! ;)

The offer is on til Saturday I was told instore today. They actually had someone publicising theprice at the 'free samples' table.
#9
Its actually not a glitch - its legit !!! My friend works at Braehead M & S and last year they were given their brief on the offers and she was straight onto phone about one similar to this.

I am def going to stock up - and btw the staff get their hefty staff discount on top of this offer as well !!!!!!

edit - also the way they work this is they will scan up the 6 bottes................then deduct the 2 for £10 offer first..........so subtotal is £30, then they will deduct the 25% of THAT total........but its still a great saving especially at this time of the year

edit again!! cancel last bit about pricing as been confirmed by other posters that price is £18.78.

M and S only sell wine by the case online so the 2 for £10 offer doesn't apply.

So it works out at £22.50 then ? so £18.78 is a bit misleading:?

OP - how much did you pay?
#16
I've Just bought 6 bottles here goes
prestige Cava £7.49 x6 = £44:94
buy 6 save 25%= £11:22
cava 2 for £10 discount = £14:94
Balance to pay £18:78 :-D
#17
I bought it a couple of weeks ago when the offer was on. It certainly wasn't 22.50. Think it was something like 19 pound odds because i bought 4 of the 7.49 ones and 2 at 6.99. It actually works out cheaper to buy the more expensive. Also bought 6 of the 7.49 ones. As far as I remember it knocked off 14.94 to make it down to 30 pounds and then 25% of the 44.94 so it was less than 19 pounds. Sorry off to make supper so no time to do proper calculations. Hope this is of help to someone.

Basically your just buying :

2 for £10
2 for £10
2 for £10

=£30

.....less 25% of what it would have cost if bought as single items (6 x £7.49 = £44.94)

25% off from £44.94 = £11.22

£30 - £11.22 = £18.78

NO! See my original post, that is exactly how the price is worked out, I know, I bought them this afternoon. If you don't beleive that, see the deal that expired on 1/11/09 on here for the same deal.

The price you pay is £18.78.
#20
H&R'd :-D
#21
As op said, they apply the 25% discount to the full price and then deduct the money off element.

So 6 bottles for £7.49 = £44.94
Less 25% = -£11.23
Less money off element -£14.94 (3 lots of £4.98)
TOTAL £18.77

Just been in and bought some. Heat and rep.
#22
Just bought some too, many thanks. H & R added
#23
im going to M&S pretty much right now...............
#24
Hi from a newbie to the forum
Just been looking at the M&S site, and although it does say 25% off, tested this by "ordering" white wine wine to the value of £35, and it didn't take off any discount. I can't see a promotional code anywhere. Am I missing something here??
PS - It wasn't the Cava I was looking at, I am off to M&S tomorrow for that!
#25
instore only
#26
Good deal though!
#27
GOt some even after the last offer ended with only 10% off and 2 for a tenner. The extra dry is really nice especially if you put in the freezer for half an hour to get super cold

Will pick some more up for christmas.
#28
I have just got 6 bottles from M&S in Victoria, London.

The actual price came through at £18.76! Great deal!
#29
Nice spot!!!!
Not sure about the "glitch" categorisation as they have STICKERS on the cases in Milton Keynes M&S spelling out that all 6 bottles for just 18.76.
On the receipt it says 6*£7.49=£44.94 less buy 6save25% -£11.24 less Cava2for10 -£14.94 = £18.76
And had a &More voucher giving £2 of points on food/wine purchase too = £16.76 net = £2.79/bottle :)
THANKS!
(In MK store they were stacked/displayed in the entrance to the foodhall from the main/escalator area = hardly low key in my local store. Incidentally damn heavy case of 6 - think it says 11kgs - certainly wished I'd parked closer!)

So did I! I also had a '200 points for any purchase of food or wine' voucher. That's another £2 back next month. So I've walked out of the store with wine normally priced at £45 and I'm £1.24 up!

Have a bit of H&R, OP.

I know where I'm going in my lunch break tommorow , can anyone confirm if it is at all M&S stores, as I will only have time to go to our little food outlet.

Thanks and heat and rep left for OP for sorting the last alcohol beverage on my list for xmas :santa:
#37
