99p not bad for a DVD plus Charlize Theron is hot :)

A Hollywood remake of the 1969 British classic with Mark Wahlberg playing master-thief Michael Crocker (Michael Caine's role in the original). The plan was flawless, the execution perfect. Croker pulled off a daring heist in Venice with a group of top-notch criminals overseen by his mentor John (Donald Sutherland). But the one thing Crocker didn't foresee was being double-crossed by one of the gang (Edward Norton). Several years later, the gangmembers have made new lives for themselves in the US; but Crocker cannot forget and, when the opportunity arises, he gathers together the crew for a revenge heist...

To be fair although its the same name it really is nothing atall to do with the original, so its not a 'version' its just a new film in its own right.

its ranks 6.9/10 on IMDB which is a reasonable score for an OK film.

I think this film gets a unfair rep. Yes, it's named The Italian Job. But it's a completely different film to the original and I have no problem seeing the two films as separate entities.

For 99p, it's a above-average Hollywood car flick and when you see it like that, it gets some heat from me.

Really? Why does everywhere keep referring to "Michael Caine's role in the original" and such?

I've not seen anything bar the trailer, as I had no desire to... I'm just curious now.

Wow, bargain :D

I honestly thought this was good, not amazing but I enjoyed it. Sure the original was good but there isn't a lot in common bar the cars, the story is almost completely different

Before I saw the film I assumed it was a remake and I'm sure others do/did aswell. Story however is nothing like the Michael Caine film of the same name but does feature a theft in Italy (Venice).

The name of this film seems to derive from a comment by Mark Wahlberg in the film where he makes reference to them pulling another 'Italian Job', referring to their earlier theft.

For 99p its not bad but if you wait for it to come on terrestrial TV, Film 4 etc I'm sure it won't take too long. Worth watching, don't pre judge it based on anything else.

How odd... where have the blurbs got the idea then... do the characters just have the same names?

Its main story is the same, has a car chase with minis and its leader is Michael Caine's character and it's a "different film" ??????oO
You a Man U fan so used today to saying Rooney shouldn't have been banned by the FA and can't get out of "Talking Utter Nonsense" mode ?

Wait? It's been on terrestrial TV for years now. Lots of re-runs on ITV2 and Film4.

A good film worth way more then .99p - Good find.

Decent film they should have released under a different name, probably would have done better

Purchased this along with several other films (6 in total) from this company a little over a week ago so taking a while to get here. Only one has arrived so far and the item is clearly second hand. Item was unsealed with clear marks and adhesive resin on the box. Nowhere on the page was it marked as second hand.

2nd time I'd ever used the site with the 1st time they just toally cancelled the order. Would very much doubt I'd ever use this place again.

Seen alot of bad remarks about this company cancelling orders without notice has anyone used this company repeatedly and had no problems?

I think its quite clear I'm not a Man U fan and being realistic there are minimal similarities between the films. Just watch the film you might learn something rather than guessing based on what you've read and clearly talking crap.

TBH I would want paying to watch this film again, the original film of this name I really love.

It always amuses me how when a remake turns out rubbish people always make the comment that one has to forget the original because the new version is nowt to do with the story, so why the hell do they use the same name and characters? Answer of course is that they are trading on the previous films good name to cover up for a new mediocre version.
