It depends, who are "them"! LOL Actually, I work for the local council, and my first thought was promoting some support for local businesses.

In small print, there are a few dates unavailable to book at, but I do hope many will find their options to use this deal! :)

Just be warned that you aren't allowed to leave the top station if you take the Funicular up. The only way to get out is to pay for ludicrously expensive "guided walks" - along a clearly marked man made path...
Its ridiculous that people try to make you think you cannot walk on a hill without paying a guide. There is no law in scotland which would prohibit you from walking on the hill from the top and wonder how they might try to prevent you?
The exit to the mountain from the area you get to by the funicular is closed off and can only be opened by staff members - as you use the doors skiers would use in winter.

The only way to get out on the mountain is to walk all the way up from the bottom, which isn't a hard walk. It just takes time.

Yeah, this is also a good healthy option, while there is no snow yet!

Before we first went there, I read that same warning on their website, and I was totally put off by it, imagining, I would not be allowed to leave the funicular train at top station at all. But to my observation in reality, this just serves as safeguarding, because mainly the visitors there are families with little children. Mainly, this warning should be taken as ''do not attempt to go walking outside top station without proper equipment'', for example.

Used this place many moons ago when it was called something else. It was alright. I always use Direct Parking - reasonable prices, closest to the airport and good service.
This is based in the car park of St Mirren football ground and only opened for business in the last month. There was one just across the road that has also recently opened back up again.

Customer service is quite lame, I used taxis in London quite a lot, had credit on my account but as soon as I got a new number they told me they cant transfer the credit, promised to look into it for me but never did, I rang them 3 times and sent emails. Surely it cant be that hard to transfer my credit to my new account! you cant even change your phone number on the app or website, as its tied to that number. Also try getting a taxi at the weekend in London with them, its a joke and I end up getting one, the old fashioned way.

They actually updated the app yesterday so you can change your number etc without losing any credit/new account.

Used this app for the first time in Glasgow West End, did wait around 20 minutes for a taxi but otherwise it was spot on. Definitely recommend.

Thanks for the recommendations too! :)

You are welcome ;).

If you like fresh smelling ones, the Rain and Summer Slices (watermelon and cucumber) are good.

I am hoping they bring the Coffee Bean and Rum Raisin over to the UK.

These are the small candles available in the UK http://www.villagecandle.co.uk/dept/premium-votives_d0140.htm but I find the USA site gives better descriptions of the scents.http://www.villagecandle.com/fragrances/default.aspx .

I am looking out for the Warm Apple Pie next :) .

Good luck, hope you find some locally, it will save on p+p costs (if you were to buy from Ebay etc).

I have stopped buying Yankee and started buying Village Candle ones instead. I only buy the small sample/votive ones so they are the same price as Yankee.
I read that since Yankee were taken over by another company, they have changed their wax and they don't smell as much as they did.
Village Candle seem to be the main competitor to Yankee and the jars etc look virtually the same.
I have only bought about 8 or so but I would highly rec trying the Vanilla Caramel Swirl and Lemon Pound Cake for starters.
They throw off a lot of scent so will last a long time. I don't burn them but grate them and put a tsp full in my wax burner, they smell stronger and last ages that way.
Can I please ask where you buy these? love Yankee but wouldn't mind giving these a go! ta muchly :)

Hi, sorry for the delay in replying.

If you email the rep for your area, they will tell you who stock their candles.

http://www.villagecandle.co.uk/index/national-sales-team_228.htm

The Lemon Pound Cake is so strong, I have put some of the grated wax in glass tea light holder and I'm using it as an air freshener! It smells wonderful.

;)

Robbie - thankyou for posting this. Me and my good lady stayed there earlier on this month using the ITISON £139 inc dinner deal and found it an enjoyable experience. Place was quiet and relaxing (a Sunday evening), the room was large and full of period features, and the food (we went for Dinner also) was very good. A nice end to our break and something certainly different for us both.

'@' on the '2' is standard for UK model Apple keyboards anyway. The main difference with the US layout (other than #/£ being swapped) is there's no §/± key and `/~ is moved to where § is, to the left of 1. I don't think I've ever typed a '§' in my life before today.
Cameron583
American keyboard is much better on a laptop in my opinion. I find it easier to type on as they keys tend to be more compact than on a desktop.

Macbook keyboards (Air and MBPr) have barely any key travel. My fathers 2010 MBP has a much nicer keyboard.

Good price for a great laptop!
tanked
At least they state it is a US model - the only difference being "keyboard variations - features # instead of £ on the 3 key, @ features on the 2 key and does not feature the Euro symbol (€)" and possibly waiting ages for delivery

There are too many people selling these without stating this. Great machine though

Also, it is worth noting, if you have an issue with a US version of the phone, while you can book a genius bar appointment for it here in the UK, if it needs replacing, it has to go back to the states to be replaced. According to the Apple Store in Belfast. Checked with them before my trip stateside where I planned on bringing back an iphone 6 at the end of the year

True.

iPhone warranties are country specific.

Apple's T&C's:
IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE AND iPAD SERVICE: "Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone and iPad to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device."
But you'll be safe buying a macbook from the states as it is covered by international warranty isn't it ?

The iphone 6 will be released in a couple of months time = keep hold of your money towards the iphone 6, I've got the iphone 5 and could not see the point of getting the iphone 5s, but I will defiantly get the iphone 6.
5s is loads better than a 5- a 5 is basically a 4 in a new shell. The 6 will be a 5s is a new shell- always wait for the a version to get the new software.
I don't know what to say to your reply, you must know what your talking about, but I don't know where you got your incorrect information, maybe you own the 5s and think it's leaps ahead of the rest.

I have never had any issue with any Apple product bought in the US. I previously owned an iphone 4 and still have an ipad 2 both purchased in the US, no issues at all when i took them to the Glasgow store. They know exactly where the item was purchased but offer the same terms.

I'm just going by what I was told by the staff in the Apple Store Belfast, saw no reason to question them, but based on your experiences in the past, I will do exactly that this weekend! ;-) Will make a massive difference to where and which variant of the iphone I get!
