I can't find much info on this... one guy had a review that said it feels cheap and plastic and could break. Another person said they were having trouble loading songs on it to any more than 1/3 the machine's size.

Argos says it's excluded from 16-day money back, but what if there's something wrong with it?
#7
12 month warranty is included with all products. 16 days exclusion is there on certain entertainment products such as MP3 players, cameras, camcorders etc. just to prevent people abusing - use and return within 16 days.

Yeah, warranty is one thing, but if there's some minor problems with the device, it's not going to be worth it. Plus, when you do warranties, you get refurb'd items, etc.

If anyone picks one up, let us know a review! :)

My sister has the 1GB model and, well, it does it's job. It does look a bit cheap and the screen looks bad. Anyway, I ordered for store pickup, I'll get it tomorrow and post some impressions.

The major thing you need to know with this is if it accepts folders..
I am a bit wary with the options saying "Normal, repeat 1, repeat all, repeat shuffle functions ".. No mention of "shuffle folder" or "repeat folder" !!!

Scrolling through 2Gb of tracks would be a nightmare without being able to load in albums in folders. Imagine if you wanted to listed to the last few tracks on the player, you would have to press "track fwd" over 400 times !!! So in reality you would probably listen to the same first few tracks every time or have it in shuffle play ( which is not very good if you have both quiet and lively tracks on the player)

Yep, that's the one I read too. The previous user's comment about whether this accepts folders is a good one. Agree, 2GB isn't really worth it if you have to flip through a thousand tracks.

my brother has the 1gb, which accepts folders. hoping this does aswell, as im gonna get it. still not a bad price for a 2gb pendrive.

just got it home.

transfer speeds (roughly)

write: 0.6-0.7Mbps
read: 1.3Mbps

accepts folders (if a bit fiddly). no backlight. the battery comparment lid tries to fall off when you push it into a usb socket (not as tight fitting as it should be).

sound quality is a little on the bass light side, but an 'equalizer' lets you boost the bass a little (i dont listen to bass heavy stuff so not sure how good it'll be for "techno" and the like).

overall i'd say its worth the money. but then again im not rich and i dont have a monstrous music collection.

Thanks lmaolmao for the feedback :)

no problem. just editted my post as the write speed said 0.6 kilo bytes persecond, which was a typo!, its really ~0.6Mbps

I bought this a week ago and it does have a backlight you have to go to the settings and change colour if you wish and how long you want it to standby
My battery compartment bit is fine so get yours checked out as may be a faulty one..its well worth its £29.99 i have not found a problem with it its not bassy but hey its only an mp3 player!

Can this be used like a usb pen drive, drag and drop word documents on to it etc., also does it have a voice recording facility and can you listen without headphones, ie loudspeaker like most mobiles nowadays.

Hi there,
How do you change the backlight?
Mine keeps scrolling through various colours?

Thanks

Write your question in English, and somebody may understand what you are talking about, and answer your query.

Hello,

I am considering buying this, but I'd like to know the answers to the following:

I intend to use it to record lectures, is the microphone good enough for this? I don't expect it to be perfect at this price but could you at least tell what the person is saying in a lecture theatre? Is there a time limit on recordings?

Does it need drivers installing for use as data storage, and is the cable required to connect it or does it plug straight in?

I'd also like to know if it includes a rechargeable battery, ie. does it charge when in a USB port?

Thanks to anyone who replies.

Update: I have bought the player. It comes with a non-rechargeable AAA battery. The plastic feels quite soft. Two PCs would not see it as a mass storage device, but another will. My own PC will not see it when connected to the ports on the front, but will when on the back. This makes it rather useless as a storage device, can anyone tell me why this is?
