blimey, you lot are unreal. 40p to itunes doesn't seem unreasonable to me!!
last years clip was 12 minutes long... and this years probably same..

it will be the best part this year same as last - oh in my humble opinion that is
#9
I think apple have enough money that they dont have to skim 40p for themselves.

13% of purchase price goes to Apple, that seems quite reasonable to me. If it was 40p out of 79p, you might have a point.

Perhaps in your opinion, but seems a pretty worthless comment on this thread. Not your cup of tea? Ignore it.

I dont like profiteering off the back of a charity, and apple should know better.

they're almost certainly not 'profiteering' off this. Apple make pretty much nothing from itunes for all the hundreds of millions of songs, apps and videos they've sold.
#15
courden done it again as predicted
#16
Yeah I heard they do it for the love of the masses, they don't care about money at all.

In 2008, their operating profit for iTunes was like $200 million.

But this is Sports Relief. As much as i love Apple, The idea is for people to give to charity, not a billion dollar company taking 13% for each sale away from the people who need it. It is uncessarry and immoral.

Just donate direct

I vote it hot. £2.99 for an hour long special. The 10 min clip was great. Im not usually a fan of this "comic" but I have to say this was very funny. I will buy it. Voted hot.

I didnt know that Apple was taking 40p to let me download it. This is a shame, however for last years it says "The following amounts will go to Comic Relief for each download of the specified download types featured on this page, which amounts include at least 100% of iTunes' share:
At least £1.64 of each download of a £1.89 TV episode."

Now I have no idea where the 25p in this sale goes but Im presuming its retailers margin/credit card company slice for buying iTunes vouchers or perhaps iTunes are making the Charities pay the bandwidth charges for each download, possible they have to pay for the rights to use any music in the clips. However if Apple say that 100% of iTunes' share goes to charity I believe them. I do not vote this cold but hot, however I would urge you all to donate anyway. Its a great Charity.

+1 sez it for me. No idea who this is and dont really care. its for charity and dont see the point of lining Apples pockets in the proccess. Dont get me wrong I have nothing against them. Great products albeit over priced. Just object to them skimming of the top of charity. I know others do it and object to them too.
