iTunes tracks for just 10p each! (normally 99p)

For a limited period, you can get iTunes tracks for just the cost of a standard txt message.

Text the word ROCK, LIVE, POP or ITUNES to 85100

This costs your normal network rate. You will get a text in return with a discount code you can enter in iTunes when buying a track, which will give you the track for free.

Expires September 30th. One use per mobile.

Thanks to Martin on MSE for the heads-up.

If anyone has a Sony Ericsson K810i (or similar) and their code contains a smiley face with the tongue stuck out then you should replace that with the letter P . Took me a while to figure that out!

Terms and conditions here:

Reports on MSE suggest you can send multiple texts from the same mobile and receive multiple free track codes - one person claims to have had 20 free tracks using this method.

So if I get 1000's of texts free each month, can I get 1000's tunes?

#15
I'm guessing that free txts will not count
#16
its not 10p songs its free, i suppose its the 10p text ur meaning
#17
wonder if you can use your contract free texts to get them?
#18
Yeah, well if I said free songs then ppl would be complaining that it's not free, you have to pay for the text message :p

Oh, and to hothothot, sorry, it should be 79p not 99p.
#19
Some songs are 99p, if they're drm free
#20
actually i think its both 79p and 99p , taken from the t+c :-

" 2. Promotion. The SMS promotion (the “Promotion”), sponsored by iTunes S.à.r.l. (“Sponsor”), is a promotion running from September 8th, 2007, at 00:01 am to September 28th, 2007, at 23:59 pm (“Promotion Period”) in which entrants will be eligible to claim one (1) song code that will entitle the holder to download one (1) song from the iTunes Store for the UK, subject to the iTunes Store’s Terms of Service (available at http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/uk/service.html) and Terms and Conditions for Gift Certificates, iTunes Cards, Song Codes and Monthly Gifts (available at http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/uk/gifts.html), free of charge (retail value of each song: either £0.79 or £0.99) (“Song Code”). The expiration date of each Song Code received via this Promotion is September 30th, 2007. "

. if your on a contract phone your free texts DON'T work .. you will get charged ( in my case 10p ) . so if you have those free sim cards nows the time to use them up lol
#21
"The expiration date of each Song Code received via this Promotion is September 30th, 2007."

Does that mean that the code will run out on the 30th, or the song when its credited to your itunes account?
#22
Even if you pay 10p for the text, it's a lot cheaper than 79p (99p for a DRM free) tune. Voted Hot and rep left!
#23
Only one Song Code obtained via the Promotion shall be valid per iTunes Store account.

Worth checking out...

Why would we get charged? Theres no mention of it in the T & Cs all they say is:

"4. Important Notice for Text Messaging. Your mobile service provider may charge you for each text message you send and receive according to its standard text messaging rates."

Me and a mate have managed to receive over 20 codes each and redeem them all and as we each get 500 free texts each a month, it aint costing us!

Also, my missus sent off a single text and got 2 replies both with different codes to redeem. :whistling:

A BIG THANK YOU for posted this link!! Finally, I found this certain album (classical music) I was looking for (a very long period, you have no idea!) in the above website! I tried most of the high street shops, online shops, iTune, Sony Connect store etc, just no luck! Anyway, thank you again.

No worries, glad I could help. They sell MP3s on the net at the cheapest price. I'll create a thread for the site

It's the network providers that are charging, not Apple. They don't include texts to SMS short codes in your free texts because they can be charged at varying rates depending on the service being offered.
