Found this in Croydon#s Poundland but I reckon they are pretty much nationwide.

It is a 24k Hrad gold plated IXOS USB cable which, amongst other things, would connect a PC to a MP3 player or camera (depending on the fitting in the devices).

Named brand and 480 Mbps.

I've got a couple of these. Not bad and certainly a better price than PCW charge for a PC-Line USB1 cable (£14.99!)
Yeah, saw some Ixos A to B USB cables in the Dundee branch a few weeks back.

Was explaining to/boring the girlfriend that the usual stores would be wanting double figures for this printer cable, just as member of staff was walking past who did a double take at what I was holding.
Thats a very good price, Similar cable cost me £8!
Gold plated USB, lol.
whilst the gold plated is overkill, a pound for 2m usb2 (480) cable is very good, seems this is digital camera or mp3 player to pc, not printer/scanner/disk to pc.

most rip-off artists like pcworld/maplins would be charging 10+ for this, and then you'd probably only get usb1.1

now just got to convince my poundland-addicted colleague to pick a few up at lunchtime for me ;-)
when buying some usb cables, it does not state whether or not it is UB2 (480 speed).

If a cable is 480 speed would it always state that somewhere on the cable? And does that mean that if a usb cable does not mention this then it is only usb1 cable?
Data speed via USB depends on the devices - not the cable, the cables are the same.
so all usb cables are of same speed, then why do some cable packaging refers to 480 speed?
Data speed via USB depends on the devices - not the cable, the cables are the same.

As far as I know, no, the cables are aslo different (I guess it's the grade of the copper wire or the shielding which is different)...try attaching an external USB drive with a USB1.1 cable and see the performance.

If it's a good cable, it should have printed on the wire section "Certified for USB Hi-Speed", etc...

I though this cable was a Mini A to Mini B for a moment! Been looking for one of those for yonks and was gonna ask if someone could get one for me.

Cant even find one on ebay.

you mean usb on-the-go? i don't think any devices exist yet, let alone cables, its not really even part of the usb2 standard yet iirc.....
Im from Croydon too!!! lol
Nice find, i'll get one for my PSP (I think its the right one) cos someone nicked mine!:x
