FYI I ordered this online last week when the deal was posted, and I got an 'out of stock, no more stock incoming, order cancelled' notice, so good luck if you find it in store, but I wouldn't try and order online!
I kept reciting passages from The Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings during the night ... the doctor told me I had been Tolkien in my sleep! (groan ... next!)
Bargain price, I paid £245 for my copy of this book ;)
In stock in Braehead HMV saw the book today sorry never noticed the price tho
I picked up a copy of this on Tuesday in Manchester Arndale Centre for £2. I was made up because I tried to order this online with HMV last week for £3. The order went through successfully then I got an email a few days later to say they were out of stock!!

When the order got "bounced" I decided to read what happens in thebook on Wiki - so I now know what happens!! D'oh!! I'll obviously still read it but I will say it has a dark fairytale-esque theme.

I have to say that the HMV online shopping experience is consistently poor. The website is slow - hard to navigate around - orders take ages to come through or they get cancelled consistently and they are not the cheapest either. It is like they are putting high street prices "on-line" in the hope that 1st time\new online shoppers will google a brand they know and will accept that is the best price.

Was it gold plated?

Crikey! That must have a signature from Christopher Tolkien on it or something.

Anyway, they had a healthy supply of these when i came across them, so possibly the same in most of the bigger HMV Stores.
