I was in tesco at Paulton this evening and saw that they were selling the official adidas replica ball called the Jabulani for £10, the next cheapest i can see is £15 at the adidas store and jjb.

Scanned and was told this was nationwide

Great ball,great deal.

 david james not called calamity for nothing.......looks like he's now got an excuse:roll:

Notice how its all keepers who are complaining.........
#4
it might be the cheaper version of the replica, as the actual balls usually sell for about £50
#5
The real shame about this ball is the fact that there is no one in the England team who likes to take a long shot these days, our boys better start getting some long shot practice in before it starts.

When some of the worlds best players are firing this ball at you from different angles, and the ball is swerving and moving unpredictably it is them who have got to stop it. The outfield players will love a ball like this!

Not really going to matter too much for a kick about over the park!

Every tournament begins with the keepers complaining about the new ball.

Its been £9.99 in Argos since it came out! so no deal

Also they have the red, yellow and black versions of this ball in sportsdirect.com for £7.99

Good on FIFA - a quick ball, thinner air, warm temperatures - might even get a goal from England. Never heard the "Calamity James" one before - bodes well for Brazil and the good teams to challenge Just Fontaine's thirteen goals in a World Cup. In the final with England, of course.
#11
They should issue a warning with this ball, it's apparantly the roundest ball ever.

What warm temperatures is that then???
#13

Yeah it's obviously not the ball they use in matches as they cost a fortune.

£80.

Also, this ball has been £10 in John Lewis since release. Dunno why people are voting this hot. This isn't a good deal.

Was in Sports Soccer earlier, pretty sure they had a huge basket of these on sale at £7.50
#22
Right - Just to clarify - This is the 'middle' quality of football that the OP has brought to our attention.

Tesco also sell what can only be described as the lowest of the low world cup 2010 ball, the original glider for the same price - so check the name before you buy it.

This one is known as the 'Top Replique', and the yellow, red and black footballs found for £7.99 in sportsdirect are 'Glider II' replicas.

The 'official' match ball retails for £59.99 (i think) in sportsdirect, and is a total waste of money.

If i were you, its get the F50 ball from argos as this is so far the best one i've played with for around this price.

Sports Soccer (sportsdirect) are sneaky with their pricing of these (unless i'm mistaken)

The price published on the advert is for the replica mini football, the glider II is £7.99 and i've seen the top replique from anywhere between £9.99 and £14.99 in the many sportsdirects near me :)
#24
Played with it today; that Exact one in the photo. I play in goal and for the life of me it was a nightmare; compared to the usual premierleague replica I usually play with. Its alot lighter; you just feel to pump it even more

For outfielders its a mixed blessing. Lets just say in this WC we can expect quite a few bangers

Voted hot from me. Good price and a nice find

Cold from me. Bought two from Argos last month at £9.99.

Decent enough balls for the money.
#27
I bought two of these for £8 each in sports world not so long ago.

Edit: Just read a post by tomwatts. Maybe i didnt.

If you read the whole article it isnt.

cant comment on the actual ball, but we have the replica for 5 aside and its is so fast to play with!! not always a bad thing, but it has a high bounce and can lead to many overhit passes!!! may improve as you get used to it,,
#30
I don't need an expensive ball to make me good

I'l buy a crap one from sportsworld and spend the rest on beer! ;-)

Good price, but the field me and my mates play on has a thing for popping footballs, so i'll be sticking to the cheapo's!

Bought a replica from Sportsdirect on Monday(£12.99), by Tuesday half the pattern had worn off, it literally rubbed off like a transfer :x Took it back today and got a replacement, fingers crossed this one's ok

yeah, i bought one at £8 from sportsdirect too, only to realise a better one was available in argos for £2 more, i promptly offloaded my yellow one for a tenner to a mate, and got the argos one, and i can confirm that the argos/tesco one is better, although it does scuff and mark VERY easily (mainly used on astro turf)

The cheap ones also burst a LOT more easily... I've been using this for a good 6 weeks now and albeit scruffy, not a single stitch gone :)

I'm not really fussed about the ball quality, It's not going to be up to much for £13 anyway, it's the pattern that matters, it's for my 9 yr old. I hope this one's ok as a 1hr kickabout at the park wrecked the pattern on the other one. If it lasted a few months I wouldn't be bothered but 1 day? I've stil got the 2006 replica in the garage, tatty as hell but the pattern's still on

if you're not fussed about the ball quality, then go to sportsdirect and get one of the £8 one's, the design stays on them a lot better according to my mate

Cheers, we wanted the white one, the £8 ones are the coloured ones, (but that's really cheap so will probably get one shortly anyway) If this white one's one's rubbish I'll get my money back and probably go to Argos or Tesco and give theirs a go

1. Its a crap ball.
2. £9.99 in Argos.

Or, get a £3 one, which is better anyway...
