Have been known to go down to £18 a litre each year at some point !
#4
Nearly as good as the 3L bottles for £60 amazon had a while back. This has the tin though, so definately worth it at under £23/L

Have some heat

Good deal, none of the supermarkets have been lower than £25 per litre recently.

One of the most overrated whiskey on the market.

People like it or they don't - nothing to do with rating it.

I have a large collection or bourbons, including Makers Mark, Knob Creek, Woodford reserve etc, but I still like a drop of JD

Jd with cola or lemonade is spot on.
Of you want to dislike something start on bells.... Then we can all join in.

When it turns up can you see if a £1 coin will fit in the top. I want something this size to store some nuggets

Great deal, not for me though.

Heat added.

What the hell has that got to do with if this is a good deal or not? If it's not for you, then move on instead of posting irrelevant responses ?

Purchased, I was running low. Thank you

Nice, heat added.

Please don't buy this for bourbon or Whiskey fans. If they are JD fans fine but most people who drink American whiskey do not rate JD at all. You could buy a fantastic bottle of good quality aged single barrel stuff for less than the price of this. I personally would be gutted to receive this as a present knowing what the best part of £40 could actually have bought me.

Hmm. Yes and no, there is a huge amount of snobbery with JD. First, though you could argue that it's not necessarily a true Bourbon as not from Kentucky that's pure pedantry IMO.
Just because it's ubiquitous doesn't mean it's rubbish.

I currently have 9 bottles of bourbon on the go, up to about the £50 a bottle mark so nothing OTT, and depending on my mood would happily pour a JD and enjoy it. My personal favourite is Four Roses Small Batch but I don't want to drink that every day.

At the end of the day, if it was really that revolting it wouldn't be so popular. I'd take JD over Jim Beam or Wild Turkey any day, and probably edge it over Bulleit these days too.

Bit like your opinion

Not kean on JD, tastes like coconut to me. Bought this as a gift and put it away in the cupboard. A week later, post pub, drank the lot with a mate. Now £39 down and hangover lasted 2 days.

JD is less than half the price of the pretentious bourbons so why even compare them?

Its like saying Bells isnt as good as Glenmorangie, duh!

Was £20 in Sainsbury's too. Got some novelty value if 1.75l, so worth some heat

£1 coins definitely fit, I've got an empty bottle from a year or so back and that's exactly what I use it for (cut a hole in the screw cap) - holds loads of coins and I'd guess at around £1k when it's full - I'm nowhere near there yet!

Thanx for that. I've ordered one
