Jack Daniel's is a premium Tennessee whiskey.

In 1866, Jack Daniel's distillery became the first registered distillery in the United States. It's here in Lynchburg, Tennessee that every drop of Jack Daniel's is still produced and bottled today. During its 141 years, it has won numerous gold medals from around the world. We put its success down to the unique way in which his famous 'Old No.7' brand is made: the finest corn, rye and barley malt; the pure, iron-free water from Lynchburg's Cave Spring; the hard maple charcoal mellowing process; and the charred white oak barrel maturing. It's the extra step of charcoal mellowing that makes Jack Daniel's a smooth sipping Tennessee whiskey not a bourbon. It's dripped through ten feet of sugar maple charcoal, which takes out any impurities and lends a unique, smooth taste.

Tasting Notes:

Colour: Warm amber.

Nose: Sweet, rich, vanilla.

Taste: Hints of orange, brown sugar and spice, full-bodied oak and dry apple.

Many alternative cheaper bourbons out there too, but JD has the edge.

This is a great deal for 18 year olds that think ordering jack daniels makes them cool :whistling: For all the adults out there buy some proper single malt scotch

Why would you want to buy a completely different drink? :?
#13
Blimey.. I did not realise JD was so expensive now... Won't be drinking that again.

That's what I was going to say :?
On that note can anybody recommend a better bourbon? Preferably one that doesn't require a lottery win to taste. Hot deal, I'm nursing an addiction to the stuff...
#16
Arghhh, all these good drink deals going on, I must resist...

...But I give in easily, so I shall be getting myself a bottle tomorrow : )

JD's the bourbon daddy.

There's really no other than remotely comes close; and at £20 per litre, snap it up while the going's good.
#19
Hot price def - not a great taste....

Maybe has something to do with being 16, drinking it straight, passing out on floor and not feeling very good the next couple of days............

Yeah i think that might be the reason i'm not a fan!

Voted hot though!

I used a voucher code CRCZWBWP8P7B to get £10 off this order but have no idea of minimum spend

I bought a bottle of this for mixing with coke, and it's great for that. I have a cupboard full of single malts for more serious drinking. :)

Clearly Wibblefish doesn't know the difference between a bourbon and a single malt whisky and was, like the kids who order JD, trying to look 'cool'
#23
Actually if you knew anything about Whisky in general you would know that Jack Daniels is NOT a Bourbon, it is knows as "Tennessee Whiskey" Bourbon is, in the strictest sense of the word, a product of Kentucky. Although there are a few non-Kentucky Bourbons, Jack Daniels is not one of them.

Your Welcome for the schooling :whistling:

No need to act the maggot here, idiot.

I'll be picking up a bottle tomorrow - so I can look cool.

What a pity you didn't pay more attention at English class at school

So, Mr Whisky genius, why would someone who set out to buy 'Tennesse Whiskey" want to buy a completely different product instead? lol

JD and a proper single malt are totally different products.

BTW: If anyone reading this thread gives a flying fig, there's a good discussion about Bourbon vs Tennessee Whiskey here:

Surely it should be "...if you knew anything about Whiskey...", as bourbons (or should that be Bourbons?) are produced in America. It's the same semantic difference you are describing
#28
Whiskey - is from Ireland or the US
Whisky - is from Scotland

Or maybe I'm mistaken / nobody cares anyway as the whole reason is to get merry and not miserable lol, like some people on here . Different drinks for different people. It doesn't make you a hero if you only drink scotch, I drink something that I find enjoyable like most people.

Hot deal, as I like JD and wont be put off by other peoples opinions.

Yeah, Jim Beam is my bourbon-of-choice, (though I did get 2 bottles of JD with some Tesco tokens, only came to about £25 in the end).

Sainsbury's have periodic offers with Jim Beam down to about £13. Keeps me off the streets.
#37
I though Jack Daniels wasn't a real whisky...
#38
Great Posting rickypp. I was thinking about splashing out on a bottle of JD and this is the best deal I have seen. I will toast you with the first slug... Rock n Roll dude!
