So, I decided I was buying this anyway for New Year's Eve at home, having played it at a friend's a few months ago, then I saw the sale price, and snapped it up straight away. (it's usually £36.99)

So if your also not planning on going out on the lash for new year, and want to liven up a potentially dull N.Y.E party at home, take a look at this.

All you need is a PS4, then all of the players just use their smartphones or tablets to join in. Fibbage alone with a group around the telly is highly recommended!

From the description...

The two greatest party game compilations of this generation have now merged onto one BIGGER, BETTER party game compilation! The Jackbox Party Bundle contains 10 unique and hilarious party games that will turn any game night, party, or family gathering into a laugh riot… or at least a competitive blood bath (whichever you prefer!)

And the best part is, you don’t need a huge mess of controllers – all games are played using any internet-connected devices, like phones and tablets, as controllers!

From The Jackbox Party Pack you get:

YOU DON’T KNOW JACK 2015

Fibbage

Drawful

Lie Swatter

Word Spud

From the Jackbox Party Pack 2 you get:

Fibbage 2

Earwax

Bidiots

Quiplash XL

Bomb Corp.

With an endless array of party games at your fingertips, no get-together will ever tank again. You’re gonna need WAY more than one party for this!

NOTE: All games are in English only and are local multiplayer.

Compatible with the PlayStation®4 Computer Entertainment System

Paid 7.99 each christmas eve. The reviews on you tube dont do it justice. Not laughed so hard for years. Fibbage and drawful are really only decent games imo. Hot

totally agree, the whole phone thing really opens it up to players who aren't really game players too.

I have the first two but most games seem to be more than 2 players so I've never bothered.

If only 2 of the games are worth bothering with you could save some pennies and opt for the Party Pack for £7.99

Noticed this yesterday after playing friends PS3 version but was debating whether to get PS3 or PS4. Any difference between the two, as the PS3 version is only £7.99?

My last three evening have been spent playing Fibbage and others with 14 different people over the 3 nights, endless fun! Disappointed I paid £8 for JB2, didnt know this was on offer.

Two points:

Jackbox Party Pack 3 is out now (on pc, unsure about ps4? and is in my opinion the best yet. So I'd make the the priority. They fix/improve quiplash and murder trivia party is also amazing.

Second, I'd probably just get Party Pack 2, as the only decent thing in Pack 1 that doesn't come in pack 2 is you don't know jack. While entertaining, it's only 4 player so isn't the best for parties (quiplash is 8 player + unlimited interactive audience) for comparison.

Heat from me but thought I'd make those points.

You're not really missing much from party pack 1 tbh. I'd definitely keep an eye out for party pack 3 which is amazing.

My brother downloaded Pack 1 on his xBox and I played that Xmas Eve and today at my parents, whereas I downloaded Pack 2.
We only really play Drawful and Fibbage on Pack 1, whereas I quite like all of them from Pack 2, can't pass Wednesday's bomb disposal no matter how hard I try though!

The quiz games in these packs that require you to be funny with your answers entirely depends on your audience on how suitable your language is.

For example, with quiplash 2 (Jackbox 3) we resorted to creating our own episodes of quips for the family to answer. Needless to say, with an audience of adults and late teens the answers given were not innocent and certainly not suitable for my 10yo nephew to partake and read.

The quiz games that consist of multiple choice are fine for a 9yo, though. So, games like YDKJ should be fine. Drawful should be ok as well. I'm pretty sure the first one has moderating tools.

Do most people prefer the third one? I, to be honest, feel like its the most boring. The only one I feel that's fun out of the bundle is the horror game, but that too isn't too great.
In terms of the first two games, I've probably got several hours on record, but the new one less than an hour.

I'll try and play the new one again on NYE with a different group of people and maybe then it will get better.

is it worth it for two players, what kind of games is it

Like turbine, I would also be interested to know any differences between ps4 and ps3 versions if anyone has played both? Ps3 version is nearly half the price. As it will probably only get played for 1 day, if it does not compromise the experience, I would rather get the cheaper version!

Personally I've only played it on PS4, however I would presume there's not much difference, They are not a hugely graphical games, pretty much all 2D basic stuff on screen.

Party Pack 3 is the only one not on sale - £21.99
The PS3 party bundle seems the best value @ £7.99

Avoid at all cost! This game is a joke, just asks you the same questions / challenges in the same order over and over again! Complete rip off!!
#22
On PC you can just screenshare the main screen so you can play with anyone anywhere, without that it limits the amount of use you will get from this, I suppose its still a decent deal but I would recommend getting this on PC if you can.

I played this a few months ago and while I have no doubt the questions are limited, we never saw the same ones twice in a pretty long gaming session. Maybe we were just lucky.

i believe some of the games are minimum of two, but to be honest 3 is the minimum I'd say, maybe even 4. Definitely a more the merrier type of thing.
#25
Okay, now played PS3 and PS4 version and there's no difference. Loading times quicker on PS4 but that's all.

One big problem is as DarrenSuffolk said, on YDKJ it's exactly the same questions in the same order for each game. Not a problem on your own PlayStation, but go to a friends house and the first game will be the same as the one you had - with a question about Gene Simmons tongue and the final round about Justin Bieber - meaning you've seen it all before. Not noticed this on any other game though.
