Because it is short dated stock.

The company sells short dated stuff to the likes of H&B at silly prices. Cheaper then trying to dispose of it themselves.

Home Bargains buy up a lot of short dated/end of line items at very cheap prices and then have to sell them very cheaply to shift them before the dates expire.

edit : must type faster

Jaques has been on promotion a lot recently, and this short dated stock implies its because it isn't selling too well which is a shame as apparently its quite nice

I didn't see this in my local home bargains
#10
it's very very NICE, i's stock up a fridge or seven at that price, alofrol of that sort will be fine generally way beyond it's alleged expiry, ..by the gods, I'd be thumping £100 down & planning an early barbeque party!

I was at the till in Bentley Bridge store today when a girl dropped a case by me, so I asked her how much they were and grabbed half a dozen bottles to try (never tasted it before). The girl said I could buy a case if I wanted - now I've tasted it and found out how much it usually sells for I wish I had! She had got another 2 cases out before I left so I imagine its new stock thats just come in and they were putting it out, there wasn't even a display price ready for them.

Never seen 250ml bottles of this - even pubs near me seem to have the large bottles.

Not tried it though.

Its quite sweet but in a nice way (I don't like pear cider cos its too sweet) and goes down really easy - too easy! Kronenberg or Becks are around 5% and taste it, this is 5.5% and tastes like a slightly alcoholic fruit drink! I'm glad I didn't get a case in a way, it would have gone by now!

I've just put my postcode in the store locator here and theres 7 Home Bargains stores within 10 miles! The good news is they plan to open another 230 shops in the next 10 years, hopefully all within 10 miles of my postcode

£3.88 for a 750ml bottle in Tesco - strange because I'm sure Wetherspoons are selling it for £3.99
#24
has anyone seen these in liverpool?
#25
i live in the west midlands and there are 9 stores within 10 miles of me :-D
#26
Cheap, but tastes too much like pop for me, nothing like what i'd call a cider.

Still, hot because it is a good price.

Its an expenisve drink for your average hobbo down and out
Explains why its not selling in Credit crunch

do you pay £2.99 for this in Asda for small bottle or do you get super strength 2 litre bottle cider for 85p

Wetherspoons is absolutely huge chain now, and is able to buy just as much in bulk as Tesco.. so I am not all that surprised..

It's pub stock that's where it comes from other retailers don't want it they had glass bottles of coke in mine for 29p. Today and coke tastes so much nicer in a glass bottle

Don't forget they were only just putting it out yesterday afternoon in the store I went in so it may be brand new stock arriving in some stores - unless I was just really lucky and its the only store in the country thats having any :?

This is a 'peachy' bargain, for those of you who have never tried it now is your chance you'd be mad not to. Unfortunatley our local store didn't have any BUT i've got another three stores pretty local to me to go visit lol happy drinking you lot:thumbsup:
