Jam Sessions lets players rock out, or smoothly strum, on the lower screen of the Nintendo DS system, producing an authentic sound digitally remastered from an actual acoustic guitar. Jam Sessions' simple interface guides players into the various easy-to-play modes which include: Performance Mode, allowing users to jam along both yesterday and todays hottest artists; Free-Play Mode, where people can play anything they chose; and Tutorial Mode where novice musicians will learn to play guitar without paying for lessons.

One of the most compelling features is the ability to record what you play and play it back, therefore making Jam Sessions virtual notepad for players to write, play and save their original music anytime, anywhere. The portability of the DS system makes Jam Sessions a complete concert-on-the-go entertainment system, perfect for parties and other social gatherings simply hook up some external speakers via the headphone jack and youre a rock star!

I can play the guitar :)

Learning and im rubbish

Sorta like guitar heros for the pros

quickest way to learn is by joining a band. I had a teacher and a book, and was making really slow progress.

But when i started playing with some mates, i improved drastically.
You've got to really like the stuff your playing to be able to play it well.

But i don't play that much anymore :-(

I just wanted to have a guitar lol in my room on a stand -- i had an accoustic but snapped the strings -- i had a teacher and all i was being told after a year was tabs and i wanted to learn the proper music

Yet to find any decent books atm or learning cds

nah books are rubbish. Well for me atleast.

Can you read sheet music already?
Because if you can't you'll find playing the guitar using them pretty hard.

I can barely read tab

tab is really quite simple despite looking like goggleydegoop

The strings are in order from E to E( high) from bottom to top.

And the numbers represent the fret that needs to be pressed.

Thats pretty much all the is to it. :)

I'd say the opposite: if you can play guitar then it's a waste of time but if you can't and aren't bothered about learning then it's a quick and easy way to be able to "play".

There's no game component to it whatsoever though, so nobody should buy it expecting a handheld version of Guitar Hero; it's just a guitar simulator with a few songs built in.
