DR. NO is the first 007 film. Whilst investigating the strange goings-on in Jamaica, James Bond, a secret agent, uncovers a plot to conquer the world. Master criminal Dr. No becomes the chief suspect.
In FOR YOUR EYES ONLY, superspy James Bond investigates the death of a British agent who was attempting to retrieve a top secret device from a sunken surveillance vessel.

In DIE ANOTHER DAY, James Bond is captured and tortured during a mission in North Korea. When he is liberated, Bond tracks a terrorist named Zao and follows a mysterious trail that leads to flamboyant diamond mogul Gustav Graves.
In LIVE AND LET DIE, 007 infiltrates a gang of narcotics smugglers in voodoo-infested Jamaica. His daring exploits lead him on a number of incredible chases.
THUNDERBALL finds super spy James Bond battling a powerful organisation named S.P.E.C.T.R.E, which has threatened to destroy Miami with an atomic weapon unless a huge ransom is paid.

What is Bond like on Blu-ray vs the remastered DVD's? I thought the remastered ones were a big leap foward over the DVD before, I wonder how the early ones look on Blu-ray?

the reviews are largely excellent for video and audio.

The ones I have seen are Dr No and it is stunning along with From Russia with love. Thunderball is not bad and Live & Let Die for me is just average. Not seen the rest on BR.

think i'll wait for the inevitable "full set" box, it cost me enough to assemble all the original dvd releases - paid a fortune for a copy of the living daylights when it went out of print!

man, what a waste of money that was lol

it doesn't matter how old a film is, what matters is what original film stock was used, and what quality the remaining masters are in.

actual film is of a far higher resolution than current HD standards, so if the movie was filmed in 1950 or 2010 it doesn't make the slightest difference, as long as the source is good, there's no excuse for a poor transfer.

its usually £25 or there abouts on cex. but i wouldnt bother, they will never bring out volume 2. i dont think volume 1 sold well at all. they are far better releasing them all seperate.
there may be a full collection one day, but a 22 (23 i guess by the time its out) bluray set is quite a big set.

the same could be said about DVDs, when they finally released the boxset of the original set, the individual discs were still on the bogof offer, usually priced at about 20 quid each!

it won't be too long until they bring out the bluray set imo, probably to coincide with the next bond movie's release, whenever that will be.
