I can't find this posted anywhere so hopefully this isn't a duplicate.
The closest was the zavvi deal which has expired now and find-dvd doesnt appear to list it. Good deal for me anyway - works out at less than £3.10 a film (ignoring the quidco rebate) or £2.88 (if you include the quidco rebate).

Have a good weekend.

Personally I'd go for the movies on blu-ray when they're all undoubtedly released together as one big collection - I think if you're going to release a certain number of the movies at once over a period of time, you should at least release them in order!
#4
Ordered. Great price.

My wife will be thrilled

So, when they transfer old movies to Blu-Ray, can you really see it? Does the original film they used hold that much detail?
#6
I am very tempted but would it be worth waiting for the blu ray to be released and see if the normal DVD box set goes even lower?

Indeed it does! There's a good article here:

It really depends on the condition and format of the source. A fantastic example would be 1968's 2001:A Space Odyssey filmed on 72mm. A really bad example is Robocop, probably done by camcorder onto rice paper.

“Recently restored and re-mastered for the highest quality picture and sound quality via the state-of-the-art Lowry process digital frame-by-frame restoration and featuring special features galore, Bond is primed for Blu-ray Disc with a selection of 007 adventures spanning the storied career of cinema’s most recognisable spy.”

It says on Amazon.co.uk that you get 6 discs with 6 films (probably put volume 1 & 2 together for £76.49) works out at £12.75 a film,
However if you order from Blah! you can get 8% Quidco back.

Blah Price: £74.79
8% Quidco: -£5.98

Total: £68.61

Works out as £11.47 a film.

Blade Runner is quite possibly the best film i've ever seen in high-def. I was absolutely astounded by how the source material looked so good.

If they can apply the same dedication over such a huge series of films I would be impressed. Although arguably I can't be bothered to watch Bond films more than once.

Most of the old films are probably done on 35mm film and believe it or not that has a lot more detail than the 1080p you get on blue ray or hd-dvd, if the films were stored properly and are transfered well then the film should look a lot better than on dvd.
