Truly a chest of unearthed treasures for diehard fans of the classic Jane's Addiction lineup, A CABINET OF CURIOSITIES presents a slew of rarities and live tracks by the groundbreaking L.A. alt-rock act. Consisting of three CDs and one DVD, the box set serves as the perfect complement to the restless band's first three albums (the 1987 self-titled debut, `88's NOTHING'S SHOCKING, and `90's RITUAL DE LO HABITUAL), drawing heavily from its wildly inventive early era, most notably on the first disc, which features demo versions of revered songs such as "Jane Says" and "Mountain Song." CABINET's second disc boasts the most intriguing songs, including "Bobhaus," a live mash-up of Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone" and "Burning on the Inside" by Bauhaus, as well as the compilation's only fully produced tracks-the funky 12" remix of "BeenCaught Stealing" and the Grateful Dead cover "Ripple." Rounding out the set is a live disc (recorded in '90) and a DVD that presents the SOUL KISS film, videos, and more. For those who turn a blind eye towards any Jane's incarnation not featuring the quartet of vocalist Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, bassist Eric Avery, and drummer Stephen Perkins, this box is ideal.

Great collection at a supurb price. Made even better because of the 'real' demos. Another for the collection, thanks.

Thiis is with the DVDThe_Flash - the other version is the same but it's a wooden box and out of stock everywhere. Play and Amazon have it for £67 but it says 1 to 2 weeks delivery and my bet is that they won't be able to get hold of it as it was restricted to 7500 copies. Nice though if you can get it - even at that price

Ah thank you, may order in that case, what is the difference, what kind of packaging is this?

This is cardboard - but from what I can gather it's sturdy - like a cardboard DVD case. Check out the reviews on Amazon - informative and very good.

I need more money, as I'm quite intrigued by this.

Mine just arrived. The images are misleading. The CDs/DVD are in Digipaks and 'cabinet' is just an open ended card box to slot the Digipaks into, similar to the budget '100 Hits of the 80s' 5CD collections you see on the ends of aisles in Supermarkets.

Still, I bet the media therein is terrific. Just thought people should know.
