The Best Curry Sauces Are Pataks

I dont really like these; I feel that I should like them as they seem to be attempting to be authentic and they size of the jar versus the price seems good value. I just find them too oily and blah ....

At this price maybe I will revisit ..... heat added x x

Totally agree, these are really nasty, in fact most of the so acclaimed authentic indian food in supermarkets is anything but authentic. Having been raised on 'authentic' indian food, i can really say that this stuff is real garbage. Earlier i saw a deal voted hot here on indian meal deals in a supermarket, Ive tried supermarket indian food on a few occasions only to see if someone has got it right yt, but no, its just really disgusting compared to home cooked indian food. They are too oily, spicy and too hot, typically people associate hot! food with indian food, but some of the nicest indian food ive had is anything but hot! I dont understand why some people make it so hot! you just cant taste the food.anyway end of my rant!

I agree but I the do like their Lime and Chilli pickle;-)

Any ready sauce may be good but there is plenty indian recipe books and internet tips
that may beat tinned/jar sauces and probabley much simpler to make than you might think.

Do a search on this site and you may find some ;-)

Tried one recently. Didn't Taste like real Indian or British Indian restaurant curry. Horrible sweet goo.

The best sauce that you can buy in supermarkets are the Llyoyd Grosman sauces!!! They taste the best and although not authentic indian, but have the right ingredients in and not too oily. Theya re normally on offer in Asda for £1. So i stock up, try the jalfrezi it's the best!!!

These curry sauces are rubbish and taste so bland.

I've tried them all and I've ordered the Mrs not to get them again.
#10
individual taste I suppose, and it depends what you add to them... we like them, and they're a good price for the size if you like them, if you don't like them, then you don't buy them, simple as....

I take it from your hill billy type prose that youre one of our colonial cousins. Personally never heard anyone bragging about domestic abuse. Did you mean thick men?

I think people need to learn what this forum is about.
It's Hotukdeals, not Hotukflavours.

1. Taste is down to personal opinion, a deal should not be voted cold because you don't like it, but based on if it's a good deal compared to it's normal selling price. This qualifies a good deal, therefore it should be HOT.
2. As for tastes you're never going to get an "authentic" taste from a cheap supermarket jar, you will have to make your own or go to a decent restaurant.
3. The best Pataks flavour is Jalfrezi.
4. Currys are usually fatty (oily) Pataks certainly are, BUT they're probably one of the healthier brands. If you want something healthy though, go eat a salad. or a low fat Chicken Tonight, if you want something more filling.
5. Lloyds name sums up how his sauces taste "Gross, man" it's completely disgusting, also his sauces are the most oiled filled I've ever seen, I don't know about what it says on the front of the jar, but looking at the actual sauce there is always loads of oil floating at the top.
6. People who complain about jar foods are tasting not as good as the real thing, is just dumb, obviously people who are buying jar foods, cannot cook properly, too lazy, too poor, do not have time, or may even like the flavour.

I like some of the flavours, I can cook, I'm not lazy, I can afford slightly better quality food, I have some time, but sometimes it's just nice to make something quick and easy. Especially if you're making it for a lot of people. If you're into keeping fit and gym work and do weights, Jar sauces are awesome, as I need a lot of carbs for energy (rice) and then lots of protein for muscles (chicken) so a a jar of sauce makes it taste nicer.

So this deal is hot, it's a good price for what you're getting.

Absolute rubbish only a small amount of oil or ghee is required to make most Indian food. I welcome members comments on the posts as they provide perspective enabling me to decide whether to buy. Would you be happy buying substandard products as long as they were the cheapest available?

You already said in your first post on this deal, that you tried this particular brand and didn't like it, so why do you keep posting on this deal!

I completely agree with the previous poster samaraki

For those who like this Curry Sauce, it's a good buy compared to other stores selling it, and I think it was a deal (for those that like it), hence the post...

If you read my last post you would've understood that it addresses new and specific points and is not repetition. So you like Pataks fair enough probably better than lava bread.
