Amazing price hot!

These are very good speakers for iPods which are both AC and battery powered, so ideal for holidays.

I had a listen to one of these a while ago and it sounded really good. I'm sure it cost about £100 as well! This is a great find! I've gone and ordered one.

Does anyone know if works fully with the touch 2g?

according to the amazon page it is.

I have a touch 2G too, i think i will pick it up, half price and it gets good reviews!

BTW the code doesnt work, so if you are going to go for Delivery it will cost you £5. So I went for in-store pick up option instead.

I got the Maxel deal a few weeks ago. Just ordered one of these and I hope it is as good.

Looks good. Might purchase! Looks quite small though so worried about sound but does get good reviews.
#12
With the minijack can you connect this to a laptop as external speakers?
#13
I noted this in stock at Bracknell (Warfield) at 12pm today. Seemed like a bargain, but not having an ipod, I quickly dismissed it.
#14
Mine takes a mini-jack so I was able to connect my Sony MP3 player to it also. There is no remote control access for non-iPod of course.
#15
These are fantastic, I used to own one and lost it on a train.

I've been itching to replace it! Voted hot and ordered one! Thanks! :D

tescos here i come!

Great deal, been wnating one of these for a long time! always too pricey!

Im assuming it has 3.5mm jack input/output aswell so can connect to laptop?!?!
#17
I have two of these. Fantastic set of speakers. I think I paid £70 a year or so ago so cracking price.
Yeah you can use as a set of speakers for a PC if you plug them into the line in. I used to use them as both a IPOD Dock and speakers for the PC.

Is this available in-store?

I was going to say that this is bound to be crap but then I re-read the description and it's JBL not JML :)

Yes; it works with the ipod touch!, 23 Mar 2009
By J. Offord "Sulaco" (UK) - See all my reviews

Lets keep it simple, the JBL On Stage Micro works with the ipod touch wonderfully!
We wanted a small speaker system for our classic campervan, which would charge the ipod as well. I've seen the larger version (£99), and this has just as good sound but at half the price and seems much more advanced due to its small size. Just buy it, you wont be disapointed...

it is meant to be yes, I went to my local store in Cirencester-none there

I always find reviews before buying and if you go to this URL and read these on the Apple US Site it appears to have a few problems with its reliability !

Heres One or Two

I've had this for about 2 years - sound was great, very portable, and it's never been dropped or mishandled. Now it doesn't work at all - the power is on, but it won't play. For $100 you'd expect it to last longer.

This product started off great - I loved the sound quality that came from such a small system. However, after a few months of light use, it just stopped producing sound. The green light comes on so the power still works, but that's about it. For the price, I would have expected it to last much longer.

Just picked one up from Pitsea tescos, oddly the price downstairs was £34.98 however go upstairs to the electrical dept and the shelf edge says £69.97, however they scanned at £34.98, you dont get the double points instore though.

Alas now sitting at home having to listen to the poop on Mrs Phatbears iPod.

Would jump at this if it was able to charge and play from the IPhone 3G, from a quick google search I think the answer is no?

From what I've googled, it looks like it'll play from the iPhone 3G, but it won't charge it.

Re: iPhone 3G - there seems to be some differing opinions on this about charging it. The first review on the link provided above states:

"...It charges fine both my iPod Video as well as my iPhone 3G".

(ref: http://store.apple.com/us/reviews/TQ101VC/A)

Given that, I'll take the risk and go for it for mine. I think the real issue with an iPhone might be interference at low volumes (apparently just turning wi-fi off will cure) and also synching with iTunes - which requires a propriety cable, but no-one seems to know where these can be obtained from. Please do shout if you do!

It's not without risk for the iPhone, but there do seem to be some happy iPhone users.

Ordered one

I bought one of these 3 months ago for £60, great speaker and i bought to work with my nano knowing i was getting an iphone soon. I got an iphone 3g last week and these DO NOT WORK FULLY with the iphone 3g. When you connect it says on iphone 3g that "This product is not designed to work with the iphone, turn onto flight mode?".

If you click no you get mass interference

If you click yes it seems ok BUT obviously your phone wont work.

A little annoying.. other than that fab, im gutted as i bought thinking it would work fully with iphone 3g and the one advertised as working with the iphone 3g is £99.99.. auch

Picked up one from tescos in Warfield this afternoon, they had four on the shelf. very nice little unit, works fine with my iPhone 3G, I don't seem to get an annoying buzz when I say no to the airplane mode message. heat added

Mine arrived today. Thanks to the OP BTW.

Works fine with the iPhone 3G. My iphone was nearly out of charge when I put the phone in now fully charged after playing an hours music so yes it does charge. Haven't tried a call yet whilst it is in there but not bothered.

It gives the non compatibility msg on docking but I just waited a few seconds without touching anything and that then disappeared and apart from an initial short buzz there was no further interference or anything for the hour it was playing.

The remote works with the iPhone 3g in place too.

Sound is fantastic considering the size of it and it looks real quality with the iPhone 3g in situ.

You get a lot of different interchangeable bases with it and you swap the standard nano one for one that the iphone can sit in (I used one that said 5G on it and it sits nice and tight).

Managed to get one in-store - many thanks :)

DVDKEV,

Glad to hear your iPhone 3G works with this. I'm not having much luck with mine. Did you have to connect the USB wire to get it working, or is the mains enough?

The 'non compatability' message doesn't even appear, nor does the battery icon on the iPhone change to 'charging' status. It's as if I've not plugged the iPhone in at all. I knew it was a risk buying it, but I thought that it might work. Given you've got it working, I'm wondering if I've got a duff model? Strangely, my 4G iPod works really well on it.

??? Anyone got any thoughts ???

Cheers.

Got mine works with my iPod Touch 2G 32GB, The controls works and it charges, it won't dock properly unless I remove the insert completely, yes even the one that came with the touch wont alow it to fit, the dock connector just wont reach inside the touch with the insert on. So it has to stand free. This also means if your using a case that covers the bottom of the touch you have to remove it to use e.g. Im using the iSkin vibes and it won't connect unless I remove the case.

It comes with a carry case where you can keep the speaker itself and enough room for cables, mains and your iPod.The sound quality is decent good for casual listening the bass is lacking on the very low end but that's due to it's size (it really is portable) its still there just not floor shaking. If you don't have much space than this is good or if like me for portable use it's perfect!
