You'll need a Schosche Passport to charge your Iphone OR Itouch
#3
can you advise what a Schosche Passport is?

Also what size is this?

Product Depth 22.3 cm
Product Height 30.2 cm
Product Width 11 cm

It cannot be 30cm high and portable can it?

i also didn't realise these had a remote controlled?

Thanks. The 2nd Gen ITouch & IPhone 3g use a different charging voltage than ALL other IPOD devices and this requires the addition of a small interface between the IPOD and the docking station.

You can get more information from this link to the UK Apple store - other sites do sell the adapter you will simply need to google

Thanks Whizzkid :)

I have one of these and they really are good. The unit is really small (try about 5cm high, not 30!) and for the size, the sound and volume are very impressive

"Scosche" (no 'h' at the front) Passport is a small device which clips between the latest iPods and the docking station.

It basically converts the 12v firewire charge used by lots of manufacturers, prior to the removal of the 12v support on the latest iPods and iPhone 3G's to the 5v USB pins that they need.

Available in two flavours, one is specifically designed to fit into major brand docking stations (looks the business) and the other is more of a cable converter.

Available for around £30 from various Hi-Fi sites and eBay.

But looking at the above comments the 5v is supported.

I have the black one, the sound lacks bass so don't expect it to give much, the volume does go up high and gives good loud mid range and treble. It does charge the 2nd gen touch and sync it too, I have one!

Yes you can. I've got one and while it charges the phone I can't seem to get it to sync when its in the dock. Must put aeroplane mode on though otherwise the interference with a 2nd gen iphone is pretty bad.

1st gen ipod touch syncs and charges fine though.

charges my 2nd gen touch and 3g iphone ok, if not in flight mode interference is annoying though.

Note that the main description is wrong. It is NOT total 30W RMS total power, it is 2 x 3W RMS.

Yes. I relied on the "30W" thing when I bought one two weeks ago. Maximum volume was too low therefore I returned the unit.

Bought one of these from tesco last month got it home unscrewed the bottom and when i put it back it just wouldn't stay on a little wiggle and it fell off so if that was the build quality i took it back and got a refund it might sound decent but its poorly made.

oh well all you had to do was to put in some spare batteries in (even dead ones) and the door stays closed, this is because the rubber pads under the door push against the battery for some friction to stay closed. At the end of the day its a lost sale for JBL so they need to consider this in future.

Personally wouldnt recommend others to buy it , poor quality.

Absolute rubbish for the size and portability it's great

Have they changed the specs or something?
I've had a black one for over a year. It's certainly loud enough for an average hotel room. It's an ideal travelling companion.
#26
Turned up today, plenty loud enough and works great with an ipod photo. Although it looks smaller than the specs say, I would say it was not a foot wide or deep, more like 15-20cm.

arrived today.....
thanks... good sound for a cheap price.
thanks for saving me a 5er too.
