the only problem with it is its very hard to drive, my son is 4 and the steering wheel only moves about 3 inch left or right, so it takes ages to turn around.

Very useful info. Was about to pounce on this....but after that I think I'll leave it be. My boy is not yet 2, but would throw a wobbly if it didn't move where he wanted it to.

if you have wooden floors, then steering is not an issue as the kids just skid around. great for kids, not so great for the floor.

My kids love it though!

On wooden floors / tiles, this is great. The kids throw this thing around, and absolutely love it. They don't really turn, they skid everywhere :)

no wooden floor / tiles. Would be a disaster lol

Perhaps.....but your chances of having bad or good luck? Personally I'll save my cash for the next deal that comes along.

These don't turn and I'm pretty sure they're not meant to. However, saying that, my 2 year old loves his JCB. He takes his outside on the path and blazes down hills on it (and consequently falls off at the end). You don't need wooden floors and kids don't struggle with the lack of steering as they use their legs. It's honestly the best thing I've bought for mine and he takes it everywhere. They're solidly built too; I tie a piece of rope around the steering wheel and run along whilst pulling him. We get some good speed around the park and the tractor has shown no signs of wear. I also take him into town on it (saves me carrying him). I paid less than this as I remember but it's still really good value for this price. I'm tempted to buy another one so that he can have one at my parents.

For all the people saying that these can turn, perhaps they made two different models. It would say it could steer in the description for a start. Also, if you look at the photo, the wheels are positioned against the chassis, therefore making steering impossible. I think if you're buying this product then assume it won't turn. As I said though, that's not a problem. Kids just whizz about on them in a straight line and pull it up slightly when they want to turn. If you tie a piece of rope and pull them along then you can get it to turn quite a bit. We've managed to go around curved paths at speed without a problem. I admit, a couple of times I've under-steered and he's ended up hitting the grass and flying off it but kids like that kind of thing (I think).

Agreed -- they use their legs for mobility -- the sterring wheel is just to hold on. This is without a doubt one of the most popular things we've bought for them. Had ours a while now, and it still looks new. Very well made, robust, and looks great too. Almost a no brainer at this price. Great value. :)

for those worried about steering - don't be. your kids will love this. even if its just to lift up the seat to hide stuff in!

We got this from tesco when they had it on offer for £12.50 and were really happy with that price, so this is a great deal!

We gave it to our son for his1st birthday and he loves it.
Really great product.
Lack of steering is not an issue for the toddlers this is aimed at.
There's a squeaky horn on the steering wheel, and a storage space under the seat when you lift it up so you can take your toys with you. :)

Price is 18.99 now :(

Got this from tesco a few months ago, steering doesn't turn and it's a bit small for my 2 year old but he still uses it and enjoys being as annoying as possible with the little squeaky horn

these have now gone back up to £19.99
