Shocking film imo.

This film has indeed divided opinion. My own view is that it is a very competent movie, with Jean-Claude playing a deep role for once in his life and, most importantly, succeeding.

I would definitely recommend this film, especially for the price.

Aparantly he didnt join Stallones Expendables as his role included losing a fight to Jel Li & he wasnt happy with that. 8)

Great movie, thanks! :)

Well worth £4. It's just a shame that after this film JCVD just went back to doing the same old straight-to-video action crapola...

I can just imagine the Fonejacker/Facejacker asking;
"Do you have any jer-cur-ver-duh?"

I am taking nothing away from Jet Li’s on-screen presence, or his martial arts skills, but I think Jean-Claude was right to decline, if that was the case.

If the film is to give the action heroes of yesterday (& Jason Statham) one last chance at success at this genre/content then to knowingly put yourself at the butt of every reviewer's attempt at humour forever more would be career-suicide (especially when "JCVD" showed the guy can act without fight choreography).

Besides which there is always the second "...Expendables" movie for consideration (alongside Hulk Hogan).

Van Varenberg was a very talented fighter in his time, but he took himself too seriously for Hollywood. Multiple marriages & divorces (& re-marriages) have taken their toll, but I can see the influence he has had in some action stars of today.

Coincidentally I was watching "Universal Solider" (the first of the franchise) a few days ago. It is such a shame that he didn't fully capitalise on the success of this film. Hopefully with last year's "...Regeneration" movie prompting another ("Universal Soldier: The New Dimension"), we may find that there is more, critic-friendly, roles still to fill.

True fact: I trained in Judo until I saw "The Muscles..." fight & have followed (& instructed in) Kickboxing ever since.

BFN,

fp.

PS. Mr T, Vin Diesel, & "The Rock", and... whom else for the second "Expendables" movie?
