Are they horrible?

The overall reviews are around 5 stars... But there's 11 one star, 9 two star and 18 three star reviews... Most of them seem to be complaining that the 3D is pretty bad and seems to be pretty poor quality

the 3d in this is actually pretty good mainly just a depth of view

the style of it is different to David Attenborough , its mostly jokey in places and aimed at trying to win kids over with the importance of saving animals and looking after the planet etc

the the whale on however is kinda boring as the voice over is done by a woman compared to the other 2, and she makes it sound like you are watching a long marks and Spencers advert

the price is excellent and worth it for a watch and then to sell on

OK 3D but very poor 'documentaries'. Commentary is really mundane and really makes you appreciate the BBC stuff. Nice to show the kids some underwater images in 3D on your new 3D TV but don't expect them to actually learn anything!

Also, be aware that each 'film' in the 'trilogy' is about 40 minutes long which hardly justifies 3 discs in 3 separate boxes in a 'boxset'. One disc with 3 chapters in a slim case for a fiver would be fine IMO!

terrible 3D avoid.

I disagree with previous comments, this boxset is FANTASTIC, and if you own a ACTIVE SHUTTER 3DTV the 3D is simply SUPERB, perhaps its not so great on passive technology, but these films are truly amazing and enlightening, watching these films does bring tears to your eyes they are very touching, if you own a surround sound system, the DTS Sound from this is superb.

Once upon a time this boxset retailed at £40+, but still at whatever price this 3D Boxset is a MUST.
