You should really stop listening to/talking about/acknowledging they're alive, any bloody singer from x-factor, crap idol, or any of those other crappy shows.

They might just go away if enough people ignore them...

Is there anything more depressing than Jeff Buckley being benchmarked against 'stars' of reality TV?! I really really hope you meant that in an ironic way!

One day people will look back on the 90s and 00s and wonder how utter geniuses such as Jeff, Radiohead, Mercury Rev et al are largely ignored by mainstream media whist some of the talent vacuums are deifyed by every man, his dog and a Radio 1 roadshow.
