I have been looking at prices for this lens for a while now and this is still the best price excluding those dodgy grey import sites. I know its not amazing price but you have the reassurance that you can always pop back into your local Jessops if anything happens.

Quido's 4% = £13.96
So effectively it is £335.04.

No it is not cheaper, they are the non-VC models.

Bear in mind that this is a Vibration Compensation version, which is 379 @ SRS and ~400 @ Camera World and Warehouse Express ;)
This is actually a pretty good price for the VC version.

The places you mentions are selling them at £379 and £399

Thank you! Someone who actually read properly before jumping the gun.

Please also bear in mind that the image image provided by this VC version is a little different from that by the non-VC one.

I'm not saying either one is better, but the VC one appears to be better at the centre, while softer at the corners.

I am, the non-VC one is definitely better, check it out at 50mm.

Not just the corners either the midframe is also poor. Real shame. Other reviews seem to concur with this.

Yeah, but there are also reviews saying the opposite. Also theres always been rumours about non-VC having not so sharp copies, I guess it might also be the case with the too.

Personally I think the VC is a nice benefit for shooting handheld under lowlight, but of course this really depends on your shooting style. If you shoot mostly on tripod then it wouldn't matter to you.
