Having not seen that one i can't really comment, but this tripod used to be £40 odd, it feels like a really well made bit of kit, not cheap and nasty, which the one from Tescos may be. But, horses for courses i suppose!!

can anyone recommend a nice telescope to go with it for 100 ish for xmas present 150 at a push, cheers
#6
I would not recommend using a photographic tripod for a telescope the pan and tilt are far too crude for that purpose.
#7
thanks appreciate the advice, any knowledge on telescopes for my price range

I think this is better
http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Tripods/Hama/Hama-Star-63-Tripod

use hama30 to get 30% off so £14.69 delivered

Has a spirit level which others don't
#9
the jessops one is nearly half the weight of the tescos one
and looks a bit better imo

I just posted that above at Tesco for £12 - I have it and it's quality with free bag and 2 spirit levels.. Taller than the jessops 'own branded' one too

I'm totally bamboozled here.
If I could swear here I would!
Exactly HOW is a tripod "suitable" for a digital camera?
Does that mean some are not?

I presume you're talking about (DSLR Suitable)

Well I would take that as most DSLR's are quite heavy compared to compact or bridge cameras so you'd need a sturdy tripod to hold it steady. That compared to say using an entry level Gorrilapod to hold a huge DSLR with a large zoom lens.

Why would you want to swear? You obviously have anger issues :whistling:

Like posted above, some tripods are not suitable for a DSLR because they won't support the weight.

Not anger issues but issues with facile statements.
It's as if a DSLR tripod is not suitable for a film SLR.
Surely, tripod wise an SLR is an SLR?
Irrespective of the media.
Unless, of course, the tripod I'm using for my film SLR AND my DSLR is not suitable for one of them and I should buy another.
As it has performed perfectly for both I would like advice on which camera to buy the new tripod for.

Please edit the title to include most camcorders, compact digital and film camera's, compact camcorders and bridge digital cameras for the really thick and angry :whistling:

Good price voted hot.

It looks very similar to the Jessop tripod I used last week and that had a spirit level.
Really well made but also nice and light to move about.

Really easy to use and lock in place, plenty of adjustments possible.

For your info.
Someone thick (possibly you) would have been missled by the description.
The fault lies not with not including every type of camera it could be used with but in restricting it's possible use to only one.

I have spoken with your proctologist and he tells me he has found your head.:p

Your carer should have explained it to you better.
The only irony is your aparent lack of understanding while all the time you are trying to look clever.

Didn't you just say "Goodbye" to me?
Why are you still hanging on my every word?
If nothing I've said was worth saying then surely it wasn't worth reading.
I forgot to add.
The only things that you typed that were worth typing was when you repeated my words.
Seeya, Chav! :p

Oh and just look at the kind of comrade you have.
Birds of a feather. lol
