Can someone explain to me why xmas puds are expiring in six months all of a sudden? Everyone knows they last ages. A ploy by supermarkets to somehow prevent you enjoying them next xmas? But why? What difference does it make to them?

If you want a conspiracy. Check Beat Before Dates on Advent Calenders. They expire 30/11/every year.

Can recommend this pudding if you find one - had one at Christmas and it was delicious.

it is a nice pudding, mmm. had one last year when they actually did go down online. as for best before dates, I ignore them. I regularly buy bulk best before stuff from approved food at silly prices and there is nothing wrong with it. better than going to landfills and tastes fine. crisps 2onths out of date are still crispy, sauces 3 or 4 months, chocolate a month or two, pasta etc no problem. Crisis make good use of Christmas parcels and no-one died from it yet. it's just common sense and money madness!
