Camera compatibility is listed here: http://www.dealextreme.com/productimages/sku_5483_7.jpg

Looks like a good deal and the same price as the cable release version. To put it perspective, the equivalent Pentax Remote F is about £18

#3
Hi Does anyone know if this will work with the Canon 30D ??

Please could you measure it for us to give exact dimensions?

The one in the deal doesn't cover Olympus, that needs a separate one:

Thanks - correction made to post.

the one i have for my canon 300d is 85mm x 33mm x 5mm - looks virtually identical to this. battery and button placement is exactly the same. the p, n, c, km relates to pentax, nikon, canon and konica-minolta.

good bit of kit and it's basically free* compared to the price of other remotes.

* well, okay - not exactly "free" but near enough eh?

Does anyone know 'Jianisi' has a website ??

The remote does look pretty small

However there is a remote specifically for Pentax camera for a pound or so more, incase unnecessary/more than 2 buttons confuse!

Dimensions: 3.15 in x 1.63 in x 0.24 in (80mmx x 41mm x 6mm)

What I'd like in a remote is a time-lapse feature, they seem to be quite rare though.

If you have a Canon, check out the following £50 software (free trial available): http://www.breezesys.com/DSLRRemotePro/index.htm
I think its the closest thing to what you want (but not quite as portable of course! :whistling: )
#13
Comments of this product list it being compatible with the Nikon D40/D40x too !

The cameras are Olympus, I have suitable software but I want to try some long time lapse sessions outdoors and the best I can get out of the laptop battery is around 11-12 hours.

If your handy with electronics you could get one of these and connect it to a timer circuit of sorts...
#18
Thanks, have ordered, hopefully will work with my D40, heat'n'rep on its way
#19
Any idea if this will work on the Sony A200? Has an A200 on the list but it's listed as a Minolta - which ultimately I guess is the same.

Anyone confirm this?

James.

Hi Does anyone know if this will work with the Canon 30D ??

Has the 30D got a built-in receiver in the body? I know that the 20D hasn't?
Also, the 30D is not in the list of compatible cameras.

no it won't - the 30D does not have an IR sensor, onlhy the consumer range i.e., 350D, 400D have an IR sensor. You can get a remote trigger release for the 30D but it is more expensive see here http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5549 This is the one you need for 20D/30D/5D, etc

I have had both the Jinsai remote for my 350D and the above linked remote for my 30D and they both work fine.
#22
Ordered Thanks:roll:
#23
I bougth one a few months ago on ebay and works fine. Is small. you can put in your pocket without any problem
#24
Purchased one for my Canon 400d! Now only missing a good tripod!

#27

#28
Thanks for the heat and all the rep that has been left. I think I'm going to buy a remote now to celebrate!

For those interested in an automatic timer and know the cold end of a soldering iron from the hot, check out this article;
DIY Digital SLR cable release circuit

and this timer kit selection;

Perhaps the Maplin MK111 Adjustable Timer with Relay output might be suitable? PDF details here

Brilliant, ordered. Rude not to for a few quid.
#32
Top Deal. Ordered one for my new EOS400D, which will come in very handy and is much better value than the the OEM version.

It's not the same - the Minolta A200 is a compact, not an SLR...

http://www.photographyblog.com/reviews_konica_minolta_dimage_a200.php

I'm wondering the same as you. Looks great if it is compatible with the Sony A200.
#34
Yeah, I just bought a Sony A200 today, and I would love to know if this remote works.
Strictly speaking, the Sony evolved from the Minolta/Konica Maxxum series.
#35
bought this a few weeks ago, worth the money and works fine
#36
I bought a cheap remote for the tv from dealextreme... and it wasn't working. For 2 £ I'll pay more to send it back to Hong Kong ... so next time I'mm buying something more expensive... and reliable.
#37
I've got one of these and it works great with my Nikon D40.

Doesn't 'Camera Window' software that comes with Canon dSLR's do time lapse photography? I think that if you connect the camera to a PC with the software installed, you can set an interval between photos, and the camera will continue to shoot until your battery's dead or HDD's full.
#39
anyone recieved their's yet?

i am still waiting for mine.
#40
They do have a reputation for being very slow so it's too early to panic yet! :-)
