Is it possible to connect this printer to iOS devices directly, that is, without an intermediary wifi router?
I'm at university so can't do fancy things with the network - but need to print from my iPad (2).
Thanks.
I got this for £52 from tesco.
Fab printer for the price.
£29.99 for full set of toners (1,250 black and 1,000 colour page yield @ 5%).
Very happy.
Camel camel says it was as low as £53 in May ... But still £20 lower than its average price though... Not voted
I would say the poster above does NOT have a 1660w - I've searched and searched and cannot find a single mention of ethernet enabled C1660w - in fact almost every single review I can find specifically mentions the lack of an ethernet port as a negative feature.

I can confirm that my own 1660w has no ethernet port, in keeping with Dell's standard nomenclature:

n = network(ethernet)
w = wireless
d = duplex

I have been using quite happily for almost a year an c1660W,solely connected via ethernet so unless I have a"special one,"this model does have an ethernet port,Merry Xmas.

You must indeed, as the only ports our C1660W has are power, USB & a Kensington lock, definitely no Ethernet. No problems at all using WiFi though.

Then there must be different versions of the c1660W around as I can only advise of the "specs" I have. Unlike you,I have no USB port only an ethernet port and power port on the rear,the former being on rear upper right. I had no need of and didn't wish to fiddle around with a wifi connection as soon as I spotted the ethernet port.. It would be of use if some one could confirm some of these printers do have ethernet ports. My "special one" does,Merry Xmas.

On the PC advisor review it says it has a USB port. It also slates it for the high cost of toner (£38.50 + VAT for black) when directly under the printer on Amazon there are at least 2 links to a full set for £29.99,I realise they are going by the manufacturers prices but who buys that?

I bought a job lot of Brother laser printers not so long ago - they had all done plenty of mileage but still worked nicely.

They seem good solid printers these days :)

Nice price if you look at it as a use and throw printer provided the cartridges shipped with the printer have a decent capacity.
Toner's cheapest I can find is £194 a set, what about refills?
