Very Cold.
This offer of £12 for 12 days cannot be found anywhere, has it expired, please advise?
Good Deal, I was there tonight. If you sign up to a membership on the first day/night, they will waive the £25 joining fee. If you join up at a later date, they reduce the joinng fee to £12.50
A real good way to try it out.
When i signed up i was told i was free to cancel at any time and was not bound in a contract of 6months.

No..what i meant was THIS deal is just 12 days whereas if you actually sign up as a normal permanent member you are tied in for at least 6 months.

The people voting cold have obviously never been as far as a gym door to know how much good quality gyms are these days....especially for PEAK times!!
My partner took up this offer last year as I had just 1mth left after giving notice to quit. He had to go through the usual "sign-up" palava including giving his bank details (which we refused to do) so that they can carry on your membership after the 12 days have lapsed.

They did allow us to still have the 12 day membership without bank details because we pointed out that we knew we wouldn't be re-joining as we were moving away and also there was no clause to say bank details were to be given.

Otherwise, fantastic deal and a great gym & pool - I loved it.

There's bikes, and then there's bikes..... I would not be in the least surprised if this is one of the "and then there's bikes" ones.
Better to spend £150 on a half decent bike and go for a 10 mile ride once a week. You'll get as much as you would out of the gym, see some real scenery and save a bit of money. And have a decent bike too.
Over £300 for off-peak membership, over £400 for peak membership per annum.

Probably better to just buy a bike and you probably won't need the gym ;-)
link doesnt work

JJB Gym Membership £9.68 Per Month Through Quidco & Pru Health

I'm tempted to use this for the Virgin Gym - Tier 1.

I would also be using the Boots offer as I don't fancy waiting around on
Quidco. They also use the same vitality points system to reduce the insurance for next year and attendance at the gym to reduce your cost.

I got a boots quote for the insurance premium, I do have the original quote and just tried a new quote and they have put the prices up..

(£90.36 extra for the year on core cover)

-----------------------Last Week-----------------------------This Week
Core cover-------------£18.83 per month (£225.96)-----£26.36 (£316.32)
Essential cover---------£22.66 per month---------------£31.72
Comprehensive cover---£28.43 per month---------------£39.81

The Price for me for the Insurance + Gym is:-

Activation Fee---------£25.00---(£25.00
Gym Month 1, 2 & 3-@-£30.00---(£90.00
9 Moths Gym-------@--£5.00----(£45.00
12 Months
Insurance Premium--@-£18.83---(£225.96)
Last Week---------------------This Week
TOTAL COST £385.96----------£476.32
Monthly Fee = £32.16----------£39.69

This is a hot offer for me but is starting to go cold for new quotes. (My first Post)
I'm not too sure if this is a good deal or not

As for the first month, you'll pay £25 activation, plus your quote for insurance, plus the £25 for the gym. The second month will be your quote plus £25 for the gym, and the same again for the third month.

1 - £25 + 20.54 + £25
2 - £25 + 20.54
3 - £25 + 20.54
4 - £0 + £20.54

Which is £161ish for the first 3 months. Then £185ish for the subsequent 9, provided i go twice a week.

Less the (now) £85 after 3 months...

Works out at about £21 a month, if my understanding is correct?

Bear in mind my local gym is £35 a month, without the risk of paying a lot more if i don't keep my average up. I don't think it's worth all the effort.

I just feel the £70 first month and £45 next 2 months isn't really worth it, despite the quidco 3 months later.

Thanks for the original post though, still can work out cheaper for some people :)

twice a week?

Do they fine you massive amounts if you go on holiday or can't be ar5ed once or twice?

They work it out over a period of 3 months, so all you need to make sure of is that during each quarter, you go in and out of the gym approx 26 times. If you go on holiday for 2 weeks, you just have to make sure you make up for it when you get back. You don't actually have to do anything in the gym -you just have to swipe in and out (max once per day).

So at the end of the first quarter they add up the number of times you have swiped in over the past 3 months. This number then determines the rate you pay for the following 3 months, and so on. If it is above 26 you get the preferential rate, which for some gyms is £0, or if you it is between 13 and 25 times, you pay the middle rate.
well i just posted this as my friends joined the last time this offer was on but they didn't have to go a certain number of times a week back then. i haven't read the small print and some people are saying there are some catches so check it out throughly first.

and i am getting it under £20 with a £0 excess on the cheapest package option, as a 18 year old, who doesn't smoke, and exorcises regularly. but there maybe something to do with where you live, i am not too sure though
