JML Dri Buddi £12.00 @ Tesco

brockstarbrockstar

Saw this a few weeks ago in Tesco with £10 off and then around £50. Just been to Tesco Hindley (Wigan) and there are a few in stock at £12. Not sure if this is local or Nationwide and Tesco Direct (see link for product details) still lists at £59.99 with no stock available.

As I'm short on space and it's the winter months it's definitely a bargain to be had!

Is it a fan heater with a bin bag over it?

That's one way of describing it, I imagine.

All entitled to our own opinion. The merit of the deal is the price - not on how effective you found it, surely?

Only a good deal if it does its job

True. The proof is in the pudding I suppose - just need to do some washing now! Like I said, we're all entitled to an opinion.

Thanks. Makes it all the more likely it's nationwide then!

I thought I had read on previous deal for one of these, that they are not that good. But for the price and if you can return it if it rubbish.
A few reviews I found, could not find any good reviews

"Disadvantages: Leaves clothing damp, or mouldy, softens plastic hangers, noisy, poor quality issues"
    ---------
" the motor isn't "whisper quiet," and infact it is comparable to a hair dryer being left on continually on its highest speed. Could you sit in a room for four hours listening to that? I know I can't! One good advantage of this airer is that it will heat up a room nicely but it also accompanies damp hot air in the process; opening a window is much needed if you intend to dry big loads of clothing in one go. "
    ------
Additionally, the quality on the JML Dri Buddi's exterior is disappointing; the silver painted metal pole scratches all too easily revealing cheap plastic underneath and unfortunately despite four well stubbed feet on the Dri Buddi, the machine will sit safely on a flat surface. Put it on a carpet however and the Dri Buddi starts to sit at an angle looking unbalanced whilst the weight of the clothing adds to the overall weight. Both my mum and I were shocked at how easy the Dri Buddi could be knocked over after clothing had been taken out.
    -------------------------------------
This dryer lacks a sensor, so if you leave clothing to dry that is damp amongst clothing that has dried, mouldy and stale smells on the clothing appear.

Just done a few quick things. Pair of trousers and a couple of shirts, dried in about 35-40 minutes.

I'm sure we all have bad experiences with some things, but like you say, for the price it's not that bad. Personally if it gets me through the winter then it's £12 well spent. I don't think I'd have been happy paying £50-60 for it.

As for reviews, I had a look on MSE and the forum there was mostly positive, but I'll make my own mind up!

This is a hot deal! Price is far cheaper thn you can get it anywhere else.

My wife's been using one of these for a couple of years it comes into it's own for drying stuff that can't go in a tumble drier. She uses it pretty much every day.

She wouldn't agree with the those reviews. The fan in her's stopped yesterday and I need to get a new one today.

Only problem is none of the Tescos any where near me have them listed when I've tried a stock check via their customer service number, they even said none on stock list at Hindley because I was going to drive the 20 miles to pick one up from there. Must be just a few in certain stores.

Good luck if you get one, this is a cracking deal.
