Was browsing my Asda in Birmingham and noticed they had the standard and SLR Joby Gorillapods reduced. These are great for go anywhere tripods that can wrap around virtually anything!!

Joby Gorillapod Compact, Was £17.97 Now £14.00
Joby Gorillapod SLR, Was £29.97 Now £17.00

I think its an Instore only deal as I cant find it on their site.

Great bit of kit. Bought one on ebay last year. Voted hot

Cracking price for something so simple yet brilliant!

Bought one off eBaY a few months back (SLR type) for a few quid more than reduction price advertised here, and not regretted it; so this is a bargain price!

That's a hot price!

Hey which store in Birmingham? Also are they near the photo section? I've been to the one at Cape Hill, and on Wolverhampton Road (in last couple of weeks) and never seen these, although I've not really been looking, just being dragged around by the missus.
#6
Yeah, Cape Hill (small world), if you look directly at the middle of the photo checkout (processing dept) then they are under the digital cameras at the very bottom left.

I hope that helps.

V good piece of kit, brilliant design

Got it!! Only two left now at Wolves branch. (DSLR version)
#10
These are standard prices for Asda in my local store, no need to hurry.

Saw these at my local ASDA (Queensferry) the other day. Hot price..

For Information though the DSLR version has a max weight of 800g or something which is a bit lightweight for my d200 :(

For Information though
From the Joby web site ..
"The Gorillapod SLR is made to handle lightweight SLR-type cameras and camcorders weighing up to 1.75 lbs (800g). "

Joby?!

Not a Scottish product then....!

Sounds like you need the SLR 'Zoom' version of the Gorillapod. I managed to pick one up from Amazon for £15 a few months back when they made bit of a pricing booboo!

Thanks for the info, the 40D, body only is 700g so by the time a lens is added it might be pushing it a bit. The thought of it coming un-stuck due to the load being too heavy is a bit :o

The smaller one is £13.94 at Amazon.

I got the same one, wish I'd have ordered two now. They're a great bit of kit but I definitely wouldn't pay RRP.

I was gonna get the SLR one, but after a quick check of ebay, there's a seller called pop_shine selling the Zoom version at around £13 delivered. :w00t: Mind you, suppose they are in China! But hey, as long as it's legit.
#19
I got one from Amazon too for compact cameras, it's ok, but when my camera is on it and the stand is at a particular angle the camera slowly drops down.

Like most things from China - it is not legit. If you check the feedback there are comments about that. Although they do say the quality is still good
#21
I had a feeling it may have been a knock-off, (it is China!) but wasn't sure. Didn't check feedback. But yeah, from the sound of it, it does still sound like a good deal. I think I'll still look into it cause they are cheap and the feedback I've now read has actually been good.

great kit for a very cheap price.:whistling:

I have gone for a punt there anyway worth a try.

Worse case scenario is its not very robust and my D70 breaks. Gives me a good excuse to then get a D300 or D90 though!

I went and got the SLR version today, works great with the camcorder, quality product great price.
#25
Is this deal still on?
#26
It wasn't a deal just standard price in the Asda I went to.
#27
Does anyone know if its still this price instore?
#28
Still this price instore, bought one today.
#29
Just picked up the SLR version today from ASDA, priced at £17.00 but came through the checkout at £16.64. Great buy.
