This is the DSLR version and copes just fine. It is bigger and heftier than the regular version - I own both, the other one used for my compact.
This one I use for my EOS 7D with an 18-250 lense just fine, although I use the version with the ball joint on the end as well which doubles the price.

remember this doesn't come with a head so will be awkward to use until then

Thanks. Just ordered it with a £15 Beike BK-03 ball head . Much cheaper than getting the ball ahead version of the gorillapod.

i have this with the ballhead, i use it with my canon 550d and it will hold it easily with a fairly big lens. make coupe holidays so much easier than asking people to take a photo and they look at your slr as if it is a alien object.
